It's no surprise that your pride in "enlightening" a "student" would blind you to what's going on. Everyone that sees it differently than you is a "lemming"? :) Ri-i-i-i-ight

avbug said:
I find that enlightening. Don't you?
No, I find it amusing.

I also find it offensive that you would characterize those folks who would sport "UNITED WE STAND" bumper stickers as lemmings. It's hard to imagine what sort of bitter motivation would drive one to that conclusion.

By the way - - the word is whether.

Glad to hear it. With the anonymity of posting online, it's sometimes hard to hear the sarcasm. But there are a lot of idiots in this world and I'm glad to hear that you aren't one of them. Best wishes for 2005 and keep building those hours!

I can't beleive what I am reading on this thread.

"A spinner is only there for looks"

"It's not like a fatal thing could happen"

WHAT!?????????

Were do you think that spinner goes if it departs the aircraft? That's right, through the prop, then it can get launched through the bottom of a wing or shot through the elevator.

WTF?
I should have been more concise. This quote is from the AFM for the aircraft that I fly.

"PROPELLER SPINNER-The propeller spinner is an option which enhances the look of your aircraft. It has no effect on performance and/or engine cooling."

It also states....."The spinner and backing plate should be frequently cleaned and inspected for cracks."

Tony,

You're one of the ones about whom I specifically referred. Take all the offense you want.

avbug,

I am sorry if I have hurt your feelings in the past. I don't remember your username, so I'm assuming that means I have not personally attacked you previously.

I am indeed a troll. I enjoy calling people out for what they are, making smart-ass comments, sharing my (actual) liberal viewpoint whilst fully knowing the sh1tstorm it will unleash... The reason I do it? Hmmm... I think it's 70% boredom, 3% joy of anonymity, and 27% community service.

What's that? Community service?? Yes..... indeed. This message board is a joke. As are all message boards. I have been online in some form or another since 1994 and as online communication has evolved, it has become just another amusing facet of the internet. For instance, do you really think posting "godspeed" or any other such drivel on here will benefit anyone when someone dies? A small plane goes down in Colorado and we have a 6-page thread of each person contributing their condolence du jour? If you ask me, that cheapens the message.

Then you have the people who come on here for life advice. "Should I take this job? Should I do this interview?" - Look buds, if you are depending on the opinions of the online community to steer the direction of your life, you have more problems than you think.

All I'm suggesting is that you take this place for what it is..... Which is certainly something that is not serious.

So the next time I suggest that Scott Peterson was simply doing Laci a favor, before you retort with venom and threats, realize it was simply a joke, however bad, posted by your friendly neighborhood troll. Perhaps to make you think about how rediculous things can be.

Mmmmmmmmm these donuts are good!

Isn't trolling against the rules?

Since I don't have the bumper sticker, you must be calling me a lemming. Do a little research and you'll find I've been through this same process on several other of his threads. That's probably why you see qmaster3 saying, "TonyC- Daveman????:)" on the fourth post of this thread.

Why don't you try "enlightening" UnAnswerd on his Am I honestly a retard??? thread?

Ohh Tony,

That’s rich…

Can I save this and apply it later to other threads you post as I see fit?

Thanks.

Actually donut, you have lent personal attacks on numerous occasions.

Certain posters here spend most of their time failing to contribute, but merely attacking other posters, putting down, tearing apart, ridiculing, etc. You're among them, no doubt, as you've just admitted. You've also just stated that you believe this site is a joke, that it's merely for your entertainment. Your purpose and intention is clear, as is the credibility or worth of anything you might say or offer.

What I find interesting is the number of lemmings who followed your comment and jumped on the bandwagon right after you.

And yes, TonyC, I was disgusted by the masses who couldn't tell how many stars were on the flag before 09/11, who hated mormons, jehovahs whitnesses, jews, and democrats, but loudly professed in thier pious way that we all stand united and trust in God (whomever that may be) following the so-called terrorist attacks. My disgust was, and is legitimate.

I went back and reviewed all of unanswered posts, some one hundred eighty of them, I think. I see a pattern of someone who knows nothing about the industry, or very little, asking a lot of questions. Perhaps you never asked questions. I certainly did. I began as a teenager reading dozens, and later hundreds of books. Archives of aviation magazines and publications going back decades. I talked to everyone I could, asked questions everywhere.

Much has been made here about unanswered joke regarding the girl he reported to have flown. Two posters correctly replied that they'd heard the story before, and knew it was a joke. Unanswered replied with an apology. End of story there. This individual has repeatedly stated his inexperience, often beginning a post by certifying his inexperience in connection with each question.

Certainly we cannot know what each poster's true background is, nor should we particularly care. This site, or any other, is an imaginary place that we visit; it exists as a quick flash of energy and then it's gone. This is not the meaning of life. It's a message board, replacing what formerly might have been three by five cards at the laundry mat or a college dorm. It's populated by a wide cross section of individuals, from students to professional full time pilots, from trolls to the human edifices of pomposity and back again that we read here every day. I do notice a reasonable intollerance for the student pilot here, and elsewhere. Folks seem to think it's somehow draining their reserves to provide a simple informative reply.

Perhaps it's just folks like yourslef that come here just for the hunting, for the entertainment, who come here to spoil what others might find useful. What is evident, even in your own admission as a troll, is that you're not a useful participant, but a wart.

Would only that the Administrator would remove you, as you can't seem capable of removing yourself.

We are indeed fortunate that you're not ignorant like them, and you've got the meaning of life all figured out. At least we have one person to look to for all the answers.

Your posts, as always, are dedicated to attacking others, putting words in their mouths, and fault finding, rather than contributing to the forum. Your are not surprising, and consistent.

I have never at any time stated that I am or am not ignorant, or stated that I am better. Nor shall I attempt to apologize for that which I have not done. Or explain myself, of all people, to you.

I made no statement regarding the meaning of life, but yes, it is clear to me. How can one reach adulthood and have any question on that topic? If one does have a question, then I submit one should heartily engage in an active search to find one's own meaning, lest one have no direction. The meaning of life is no mystery.

Prior to 09/11 we had church bombings, domestic terrorism, riots, excessive regulation, hate crimes, bitter political battles and corruption, racial tension, religious bigotry, yada, yada, yada. After 09/11, we still had church bombings, domestic terrorism, riots, excessive regulation, hate crimes, bitter political battles and corruption, racial tension, religious bigotry, yada, yada, yada...but the difference was suddenly that we were standing united. Trusting in God. We fought over who god was, but we were all standing united behind him or her.

Millions began flying the flag on their car. Not because they were patriotic or had any great affection for the flag or their body politic, but only because it became chic. Lemmings. Gotta join the crowd. Everybody wore (still wears) stars and stripes ties. Wave of patriotism? People still hate each other, still fight bitterly, still tear down. Look what's happening right here on this thread. You didn't come here to answer the question, you came to this thread to knock others down, as you always do. Just like the donut troll. No good feelings, no standing together, no looking toward a common good. Only tearing down others.

We call this hypocracy, much like lemmings who don't necessarily believe what is being taught, but are quick to follow it. I don't believe I cited you as being a lemming, but certainly stated that after a simple accusation by the donut troll, so many immediately rushed to condemn. Nothing more than an immediate "I can't believe I've been had" statement, and a rush of backpedling. I don't recall you back pedling; you merely came on board to attack...and in reviewing the posts by unanswered, I can't help but note that this has been your role in several of his or her other threads. So what's the difference? Troll? Lemming? Or just someone who participates to tear down, insult, pick apart, and whine?

All the same in my book.

Do you not know the meaning of life??

You betcha. Anytime I call folks lemmings, fire away!

By the way, do you remember This post?

Were you a lemming, since mmmdonut beat you by 3 posts?
I think mmmm was just online before me (3 hours before me)… I saw the post and thought I had heard the story before, and then I remembered that earlier post Unanswered made…
As far as the lemming comment, it struck me funny. Based on some of our previous conversations. My post was meant in humor, but I guess it wasn’t that funny after all…

Actually I agree with Avbug 100%. I post here for a variety of reasons.

Hey, I wasn't calling you a lemming - - that was Avbug's deal. As I recalled, you were the first to "out" the story, the one that prompted the apology, so I couldn't possibly think you're a lemming. However, upon review of the thread and observing the "order of posts" rule, mmmdonut posted before you so you get the label. :) <---note the smilie face indicated light-hearted humor

No, you did not specifically mention the meaning of life, but you mocked those that believe in God, and it reminded me of another thread where you did the same and espoused your own revelation of the meaning of life.

Like I said, it's good to know someone who has everything figured out.

Well, Tony, I'll go ahead and ask you what I always ask you in these threads. Have you anything to contribute here, or did you just come here, as always, to attack?

I believe unanswered asked a question. Where is your reply?

People do not have to agree on politics, religion, or BBQ to be patriotic.

Do you actually think you are going to rattle this man's cage?. For Chri$t sake enough is enough. You can be bitter until hell freezes over but it still doesn't take anything away from avbug and what he has done and accomplished in this business. If you can't beat him then join him, what is your intent on continuing to attack this poster?. You will never win nor will you ever make him look bad.

So you have nothing to contribute to the posters question, then?

Agreeing on barbeque is not intrinsic to patriotism. However, much larger issues exist, and we are far from standing united. Mere disagreement is one thing. But being united is another. We are split along polar boundaries on almost every topic, to the point of violence and internal strife. We are not united, there is no harmony. United we stand against what? Against terrorism? Against arabs? Against ourselves? Against what?

But we digress. How are you going to contribute to this thread, TonyC? How are you going to provide wisdom for young unasnwered? We do this so often, you and I. You attack and tear down, and I ask you over and over when you are going to say something that contributes to the thread. You ignore that challenge, offer nothing but attacks and negative information...and then move to another thread to do the same. Try cutting a new leaf on new year's eve.

What are you going to post here to contribute to this thread, what answer have you to offer that will be constructive for the question posed by unasnwered?

avbug said:

I read the thread and chose NOT to post until AFTER you had attacked mmmdonut and Vik began to paint the picture of UnAnswerd's history. I then made a correction to Vik's post in UnAnswerd's favor, and chronicled some of his posting history to summarize why people might consider him to have a legitimacy issue.

You attacked.

You believe wrong. He did not ask a question, and I feel no obligation to reply.

Go on, bright spark. Contribute something useful, something positive.

I dare you.

I know you have it in you. Somewhere. Under all the garbage. Give it a shot. Add something useful. Dig deep.

--and in response to your earlier comments, I'm sure that if I had any teeth, I'd feel differently about barbeque.
