The parent company for United Airlines (UALAQ: news, chart, profile) won a temporary restraining order Friday from federal bankruptcy Judge Eugene Wedoff, the Tribune said. That stopped creditors represented by Chapman & Cutter LLP from repossessing eight Boeing 767 jetliners and six 737s.

UAL has objected that leaseholders are banding together to regain their planes. The airline company says that violates antitrust law requiring individual negotiations, the Tribune said. United says it is trying to renegotiate leases and has only met resistance from the group represented by Chapman & Cutter, according to the Tribune.

I guess that doesn't apply to employees? These airline managements and bankruptcy courts are really something else! I mean **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED**! Now UAL management is crying foul but uses the same tactics against there employees. I think these people are just plain freagin MAD!

Btw, I think there was an aritcle or a special on TV or something on aircraft repo about 2 years ago. It was mainly GA aircraft repo, but people would sabotage the aircraft, shoot at the guy, etc.

Probably the most dangerous of repo jobs. At least with a car, if something isn't working you can pull over

This is all getting a little ridiculous...... I got called from overseas a couple of months ago from a contractor, for which I have repo'd (repositioned) airbuses for, who asked me if I was able to repo (reposes) Uniteds or USAirs airbuses on short notice? ..... I really can't remember which one it was.... I think it was USAir..... the job pays a thousand a day and they basically tell you where the plane is and you have to do the rest...... fuel is taken care of by them and no it is not a middle of the night wearing black and sneaking around kind of thing....couple of buddy's that did this kind of thing with me got the same call around the same time so you know they're preping for something...... However I have not heard anything since then so who knows........

I've been thinking about this all day. . .

1) Capt. fires up the APU and puts power on the jet, leaving crew door open
2) F/O hooks up the tug and begins pushing back
3) Capt. cranks the engines
4) F/O unhooks the tug and pulls up under the crew door
5) F/O climbs on top of tug, jumps into crew door
6) F/O shuts crew door, straps in, and calls for taxi

Ok, dumb question from someone who hasn't flown one...

But while a CRJ might not be "approved" to do it, would it be techincally possible?
