Thanx Ultra-- I should have made myself clearer-- I understood the Bluetooth side of things- just was trying to shorten the question. I'll get w/my FSR, but I wanted to have as much info as possible when I talk to him..

Thank you ultra-- did you get a quote on the ext ant (ant + install)?

We had an external XM antenna installed a few years ago on our Falcon 900 and I believe it cost somewhere in the $7000 neighborhood. It was worth every penny. The antenna in the window would lose the signal on a regular basis.

Aircell WIFI on board with the GNS receiver and foreflight, and I have GeoRef approach plates with smart taxi and weather radar overlay on a moving map. Still prefer the Jeppesen world subscription to the Naca charts. Its a great EFB, if that is all you use it for in the cockpit.

How bout this ADS stuff

Seems like there is going to be a way that we can get on our Ipad and android devices through a antenna picking up ADS info.... the same info we get over XM

But would still need a GPS input to our Ipad or android device.

Fo example I can hook my 296 to my lap top or other device to give it GPS position to overlay position on charts and plates.. And then have another antenna hooked to the laptop, or Ipad or android device to get metar, taf, radar and other aircraft positions overlay from the ADS transmissions.

And get around XM and other charges.

I am neophyte at this so I am sure someone out there has better understanding of how this will all work out but it sounds like we are going to have some good options soon as app and program builders settle out.
