I live right under the flight path of planes landing at LGA in Flushing Queens, NYC. There are alot of Airliners like Delta, ATA, USAir, United, Song etc. and also some turboprops. They usually land at a certain time in the morning or evening so you know if you hear one coming there are more right behind it for a few hours or so. Cant really say I can smell the fumes. I can see them retract their landing gear though. Noise is tolerable since watching them turn into base is worth it.

Hey, bro. When I was flying for Vanguard, we overnighted at the Sheraton Flushing. I always asked for a even numbered room on an upper floor. That put us directly in the path of planes on the Expressway Visual 31. I could leave the blinds open and watch airlines making the approach to the runway all night. Very cool.

I remember growing up five NM south of ORD. I would be playing in the back yard and when the 707's and DC-8's went overhead I could pretend I didn't hear my Mom calling me from the house. The sound was deafening. Now I live about five blocks from there, and even with the increased MDW traffic, I rarely hear a thing. No more excuses with the wife.

Right under the path for all the traffic from Miramar and North Island headed for the Salton Sea and Twentynine Palms ranges. Most days, I get to hear jets all day long, it's great.

I love where I live to. On a residential airport with about 15 other pilots. Sadly all the neighbors are always fighting and sueing each other, but you guys don't care about that. Where I live is great for getting rides in every thing from Stearmans to 210's.:D

Do you live in the same airpark I do? My neighbors fight and sue too.
