Is there some type of standard airline pilot psychological/ intelligence test given (written)? If so, what is the name of it? What is on this test? Is it like a basic IQ test and personality test? thanks for your help

"do you prefer a good poem or a well made gun?"
"When participateing in group activities and games, does the shouting of directions anger you extremely?"

Gotta love it

"Are you completely nuts, and if so would you take out a whole planeload of passengers?"

I think COEX and Mesa have one;

Will you work for free?

Is it ok if we abuse you?

Would you mind if the CEO borrowed your wife or girlfriend from time to time?

Outstanding Dash!!!

chooooo choooooooo chugga chugga chugga chooooo choooooo

W:eek:

those tests suck

Yeah, I had to take the Poem/gun test for initial FAA hiring.

most the questions where like this
would you rather sit at home and read a book or go out and have a beer.
And there were a million beer questions if i recall. Im sure there were looking for personality type **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** but mostly looking at consistincy. I know of one guy who took the FAA test failed it and it was questions like that. Too many inconsitincies.
I was told later that the more social and outgoing you are the better qualified you are.

The gun question, dont remember how it was worded but was like the above.

Would you rather read poetry or handle a gun? It was pretty blunt.

that was a tough question cause i could care less about poetry and i don't give a **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** about guns.

MMPI is one of the standard tests. I think that stands for Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory or something along those lines. My present company does one initially then for every promotion. It is then gone over with a Psychologist and they can stop a promotion based on their findings. It can be frighteningly accurate.

As for intelligence tests they can vary from airline to airline and it is best to check out other webboards, like aviation interviews for better scoop on the actual tests. Some of the military entrance examination books are good for preparing.
