Sorry Guy but I don't buy your BS first of all this started last week when I was talking about my friend that went to Pacific jet and he is the one that paid for his Type all I said was that it is tough out there and if you spend the money maybe it will make you more interesting to a potential employer you are the one that got bi-polar not me, I thought that if I went and got lets say a citation Type and knocked on the door of companies that fly that equipment then maybe they will take a better look at me, also I never said that I am playing pilot I worked hard for the time that I have my time also consists of 170 hours of instrument time that of which 45 is actual 600 hours of night and 1270 hours of x-country and I mean real x-country and just over 200 hours of Multi time most of it in a Baron by the way 1000 hours I worked for I would drive 25 miles a day to pick up the aircraft starting at 3:00 am every day and as I said before I am making a career change I am not playing pilot call it as you wish but I did not buy my time at least respect me for this, I understand you have your opinion and it may very well be valid but you should not put someone down that you don't know.

Wow! is "real x-country" time going to airports, dare say, over 50nm from your departure airport?!!
Cross country time is needed to qualify you for your instrument rating. Anyone who has to list their cross country time as a resume builder isn't qualified to raise the gear on a turbo-jet. IMHO

I can understand your situation better than you'll ever know. I to have changed careers from the financial services industry to flying professionally. And this is what I can tell you -- in this profession, as in financial services, you must earn your own credibility, the respect of your colleagues, and only then will you advance to the next level.

The financial services is very similar; it’s nearly impossible to land a big $$ client without credibility and experience gives you credibility. You may have the financial resources to buy a type rating and thus think you'll make yourself more marketable, but I'll tell you first hand, you will never earn the credibility and respect you are looking for. The best decision I ever made was to get my instructor ratings. I learned more about flying in that time than in any other. I also worked harder than I ever have in my life. Doing so caught the eye of the charter pilots at the FBO and before you know it I'm typed in a CJ2 flying with the same guys. Now, six months later, I'm off to Lear school all without having spent a dime of my own money. The best investment you can make is to invest in your own credibility by earning the respect of your future colleagues. This is a very small community, so trust me when I say you don't want to begin with a bad reputation.

P.S. The grammar counts toward the whole credibility issue. Just my two cents, which, by the way, I would invest in a mutual fund.

Seneca right into Learjet. There is a leap of faith. Just because you have the doe-ray-me to pay for your training at sim city is no guarantee that you will pass. The door at sim school opens just the same for those of us who have passed, and those who have failed.

45 whole hours of actual instrument. Very impressive. I would be more than happy to let you shoot the approach to minimums in a Lear 36XR (GTOW 19.3k) at max landing weight with the flight director flagged. Exactly how many holds have you had to perform in actual IMC. Any of them at 235 knots?

You know what? You would be better served if you went and flew Ce402s (please, do it in a B model) ) for a year or two and gain some actual Part 135 PIC time instead of trying to buy your way into a Lear seat. And besides, the likelyhood of a large portion of the Lear fleet that you're hoping for being parked after Jan 2005, is a reality that most do not want to believe.

But, if you absolutley feel that buying type is your prime directive, then go to Simcom (PanAm). SIC Initial is $8840... not $15K. You can use the extra money to enroll at Truckmaster Driving School. Because until you get 2500 TT and 1000 multi, your chances of flying for us SIC are nil.

Seriously, you need to relax. If you have been reading the boards for long, you should have realized most members' feelings about PFT. Try not to take it personally.
