. . . there are also tons of oppotunites with regionals after you get finished. They seem to have the hook up

Really? Where are they all getting hired? Seriously.

In an even more serious note, my previous post should have read:

I guess that's better than Aviation Science, but I've seen more diversity at a 'Tiger reunion than that, and we all know that the 'Power of Dixie Land' is what keeps all yalls' family trees from ever growing any branches! :)

Go Gators!

Well just before I got to FSI for my second summer, CHQ, Commutair, an Cape Air had picked up quite a few instructors. Granted, most of those CHQ hires are now on furlough, and actually one of my check airman this year was one of them. But they will eventually get called back. And as far as what is going on now.....Lots of contact has been made to Mesaba from here. I expect some of our instructors will get interviews soon. Another good thing going on at FSI is there new internship program. You have to of gone through there CFI program to qualify, but they are sending instructors to all of the FSI sim centers across the country, and they are getting free type rateings. One guy I know worked at the SAV center, got a G-V type, and got hired my flex jet, or one of those fractionals, im not for sure. So with an industry in decline, things are looking a little brighter here at FSI.

Post-FSI opportunities

. . . and put in your time at Dispatch or in scheduling, teaching ground school, etc., and instruct for 800-1000 hours. I know that ASA has picked up quite a few FSI instructors, but I, personally, can't think of others at the moment.

Just the same, FSI is a good place to hang your hat for a while to gain experience. Pay has improved, there are management opportunities, decent benies, including health and 401-K, and chances to build some safe actual.

Quite a few? In '98, ASA darned near put FlightSafety Academy out of business!

There were a lot of reasons for that...but I do not want this to turn into another PFT thread.

Hey Ace,

I happen to be involved in aviation at AU ... why aren't they letting you get your instructor ratings there? It shouldn't matter where you went previously... I know someone who is currently in CFI training at AU who spent his freshmen year in college at ERAU...

Hey ACE,
I'd be interested in hearing about the aviation business program and how you like it. I was orig. going to go into flying but that hasnt worked out yet and I'm really interested in business, so in thoery try to get the best of both worlds. Right now I'm wrapping up my bachelors degree at a small community college with major in busniess.
