Did you just prove a point, Here the orginal thread was about the communication between the Brazilian driver(s) and the G drivers, so where does the truckin down the highway at 40 tons come in.
Now your probably thinking what does he know, but, but ,but after driving Trucks in both the northern and southern hemisphere, and operating aircraft at 160 ton gross take off, I would have to say that there is NO comparison.

And face it pal, sit around and have a conversation with both type of individuals. pilots and truck drivers, and guess which one is going to bore the living out of you! Trucker party, fried chicken and some really rotund woman with bad teeth and a double digit IQ, whow, I CAN'T WAIT.

Whats the big deal about flexing the type aircraft you fly? I've seen this in the military, but man o man, this "my *bleep bleep bleep* is bigger than yours" seems to be worse out in the real world.

Legacy vs. Gucci jets? I didn't even think there was a comparison to begin with. Aren't they designed to take on different primary missions anyway?! And omg, Sorry Legacy driver, but you got spanked.

I only got spanked if you ignore the facts or make up new ones to fit your argument. I guess one guy arguing against fifty will lose on the basis of sheer volume--nobody can hear what the loner is saying over the din.

It all boils down to penis envy in the end of some sort or another. The Gulfstream drivers are just p*ssed that the Brazilian children came up with something that competes with them in the size category for a lot less money. If you need Gulfstream capability then don't buy our jet. If you like the size but don't like paying through the nose to get it and consider reliability a virtue then the Legacy is a good choice.

My jet does just fine and I stand by everything I said. It is a great airplane. Honest. Reliable. Popular among pax and crews. Continuously improving. I admit to being a little overzealous in my defense of the Embraer, but I try to be objective about it. It does what it does very well. That's all one can hope for in any airplane.

No offense taken either way. Safe flying to all, regardless what you drive...

Reliability a virtue? The G has a 20 year warranty, tell me again how long the warranty is on the "reliable" Legacy. Oh, wait. I remember, it's 5 years.

I think you said that Embraer doesn't have to guarantee it won't fall apart for more than 60 months because it never breaks. Huh? Using that logic the Brazilians could guarantee the Weasel (sorry that's what it looks like to me) for a century.

If your mission is 13 people over 3000 NM or 8 people 3250NM then the Legacy is a good option. It's cheaper per mile than the competition...

OTOH, if you have an ego that is beyond satiating then don't buy it.

So, the Brazilians will garantee the WSCOD for a century. How much does this first-of-it's-kind in the industry "unlimited warranty" cost? This beats even a lifetime guarantee.

You might be right about Gulfstream components costing more to replace after the warranty period than Weasel parts, but, hey, premium components would always cost more than Legacy parts made from recycled Bravara beer cans.

The Weasel's dark cabin has leetle tiny windows compared to the G's 14 giant oval windows and it's four inches, not two, which in some circumstances can make a lot of difference.

Four inches without a dropped aisle, two inches with. Nobody has ever been bothered enough by the cabin height to order the dropped aisle. OBVIOUSLY the people who write the checks are satisfied with the Legacy's cabin.

Our airplane has very large windows (well above average), and plenty of them, so I am not sure where you get off on calling them small. Relatively speaking, compared to a Gulfstream my house has small windows. Big deal. I have never been particularly impressed with Gulfstream's windows...but obviously you are and that's your perogative. No offense taken and none intended.

For a high cycle environment, 13 pax, and 3250NM range large (super midsize) cabin airplane the Legacy is hard to beat.
