Jets for Jobs.....

The Jets for Jobs, or "J4J", program was created at USAirways to come to a resolution between the ALPA pilots who had lost their jobs after massive furloughs after 9/11/2001 and the need for growth aircraft at regional wholly-owned and affiliate companies who had the capital to invest in additional aircraft while USAirways was restructuring under bankruptcy law. The idea was meant to be a compromise between giving these pilots a position at a regional carrier which carried certain benefits (such as furlough protections and higher rates of pay) and allowed the regional carriers to enjoy the benefits of additional growth aircraft.
