How Many Republic pilots out earn usair e190 capts??

I'm relatively young, but I've been doing this long enough to know that some will get stuck- best example are the glut of various rj fo's that got stuck on FO pay bc al negotiating capital was spent on capt rates bc no one spent longer than a year or two as an FO.....:-/

+1 on the comments above- I would leave any regional for usair- I find no long term security at any regional- and I do praise AAA pilots for getting the aircraft onto the mainline side of things-

No dog in the east/west fight, but think the stand is financially dumb and puts downward pressure on all pilot wages-

As a swa guy, I hate their airbus wages, where our FO's far out earn their captains-
RAH is as underpaid as any regional- republic's negotiating ability is tripped up by us air's 190 rates- so is jetblu's-

They will get higher rates as soon as they stop this silly fight-

Just pointing out that the actions of every pilot group affect every other one

Probably true, but it took longer to get to that point. You have what is called a "sunk cost", so regardless of the amount, it's pointless to factor it into a career decision. 10 years at a regional to equal 3 years at a major doesn't matter once you've made the plunge. You're already there. Can't go back.

For those that are considering making a move...it matters greatly.

Do yourself a favor and see what you will be makeing at RAH in 6 years. Compare that to what you will be making at Airways in 6 years. Have some forsight. Easy decision. Go to Airways
 
Regarding RAH pay rates. I have several friends around 9 years on the pay scale at RAH haveing just left there myself. If you bust your ass (working 18 day a month or so) and are a check airmen you can break the 100K number at RAH. A more typical 190 Capt. makes around 85-90K a year with 15 days off a month average. FO's top out around 35-40K a year as the FO pay scale is the same for every plane at RAH

That's just sad. I make more then that on a 50 seater, and don't work very hard. You guys realy need a better contract.

Wait- the fella said he left RAH. He didn't say he left RAH and is now a USAirways CA (unless $$$ went back in time some 14 years and flew for USAir)- so where is the authority? APC payscales? A friend of a buddy who heard once this one time at band camp?

I don't know, I'm just asking.

And I fly a 50 seater too- one that makes money by the way- and I'm nervous for my immediate future at my airline.
 
Within six years, us airways could merge with American. Could mean layoffs. Where as if you stuck it out at a regional you would be much better off financially.
Plus for the first seven years at Airways you only get 1 week of vacation.
Disgusting. Airways is bringing down the industry and I just can't support that.
