We don't carry a survival kit in the jet. However, to minimize risk my boss keeps all of our flights under 2 hours and limits us to only 10-15hrs of flying per month.

This allows me ample free time to fly my buddy's Super Cub all over Idaho. In the Cub we carry sleeping bags, a gun, fishing tackle and satellite phone. Our Cub emergency training is done in-house (usually sitting around the BBQ). In the event of a crash, the sat phone is to be used to call home and report fishing conditions/request supplies.

Aw crap, I don't have a clue! Does "Flying Native Americans from Illinois which is named after the tribe that once inhabited the area," work? How about "Flying Squirrels?" Oh wait, PETA will be all over me for that.
The NCAA can declare it non-PC but they can't make me stop wearing my "Chief" shirt with the Chief on it, nor can they make me take my window sticker of the Chief off my car.

I fly over the pond in the Legacy with only two life rafts... That's the sum total of my survival gear (other than what is required by Part 135). But I'm an Eagle Scout like McGyver so I can fashion a helo out of the debris from the wreckage and fly to safety if I must.

I was fly fishing the Snake last Friday outside of Jackson. They were hitting mayflies pretty well....but i'm sure you knew that already with that tough lifestyle that you portray. The weather is amazing out there...but back to instructing in the Georgia heat for me. Anyone ever said they wish they were you?

FWIW-There are two other flight dept's near mine that fly the same schedule in much bigger A/C for more $$$.

They also flyfish better than I do.
