Interviewed June 15th.....Our interview class seems to be split between the last December class and the first January class. (somewhere around 60-65 left to fill the remaining classes this year.)

Congrats! Your info regarding class numbers for the next couple of months backs up what I've been told. I understand that class sizes currently number 20/class but there is rumor that class sizes might increase to 24/class in January.

I just finished up a trip yesterday with a brand new FO (he's the one that told me about this site) and he told me he was in the pool for 2 1/2 years prior to getting hired. Hopefully since 911 the pool has had a chance to shake out and it wont take as long to get to class. They tell us that they expect to hire 500 a year for the forseeable future. Usually 24 to a class and 2 classes per month with some off time for holidays. Lots of retirements coming up and alot of airplanes to be delivered. Interviewed 8 Jul and was told recently to expect 3rd class in Jan, which starts on the 31st. Right now scheduled for 20 in a class but may increase to 24. Looking forward to the official call and date. Congrats to all in the pool and good luck to everyone waiting for a chance.

Update from Kim Today

Spoke with Kim today. She said they'll be 20 in the Nov 15th class, 20 in the Nov 29 class, and 24 in the Dec 13 Class. I'm progged for the 3 Jan class and she said I was about 10 away from making the 13 Dec Class, so not to get my hopes up. Doing some quick math--that puts me at about 74 in the pool. Here are my stats:

22 April--Interviewed
20 June--Typed and put in the pool that day
3 Jan--tentitive class date if things move as forecast.

I asked how far ahead of me my buddy was who's pool date is 14 June...she said he was about 20 in front of me. So if your pool date is ~14 June then you can guess that you're around 54th in the pool. So considering that the 20th was a Sunday, I'm guessing that the cutoff for the 13 Dec Class is probably a pool date (interview date or date you got your type rating...whichever is later) of 16 or 17 June.

Looking forward to meeting all of you who will be in Dallas to kick off a great new year. Best of luck for those of you waiting for the big interview call. Enjoy the holidays, but get prepared now. I look forward to your success (and getting me off reserve )--gotta love those win-win situations!!

I'm in class right now (Oct. 4 start). I don't know what mgmnt has up their sleeve but our instructor's said the training dept. was recently asked how many pilots they could train per year. After a careful analysis the answer is 750. I hope they train that many next year!
