4 weeks and 1 day.....No letter..

They called this morning and offered me the job. No medical anymore. They told me I just needed to go to a local hospital and get a drug test. Hopefuly a class date soon after that.

I think I'm still stunned!

Congrats! Hold the door open so few more of us can slip in.

The 4 year degree

Is anyone getting hired without a 4 year degree? I had heard they really want people with heavy jet/EFIS/International experience. So just wondering if they are looking at folks without the 4 year degree. Say a two year degree.

Here's what I've heard. The Oct 3rd class is still scheduled with 20 folks in it. There's an Oct 10th class of 10 folks (8 72 FE, 1 72 FO, 1 75 FO). And there's also a Nov 1st class of 20 folks (no idea on equipment).

I also got the call for the October 10th class and they told me I would be told what equipment I was on as soon as I passed the new "drug test" instead of the medical. Can anyone tell me where the 72's and 75's are based (pardon my ignorance, but I didn't know if they are spread out amongst the bases or all in one place)? Thanks. Also, I had no internal recs when I was called, so there is hope.

When did you interview?

Do the internal recs have to be from the flight department? I drove for UPS for 9 years. I can get a few letters from center managers and on car supervisors. I assume they can't hurt but wondering if they prefer them from the flight department? I am finally getting near competitive to apply so any help is appreciated !!

Rec's...

From what I understand, managerial recommendations of any stripe carry more weight than the "run of the mill" pilot recommendation. Although, as a lot of us on this forum can attest to, many folks are getting the 'good news call' w/out recommendations.

Thanks any info would help Just wasnt sure if they wanted flt department recs over the package car division

Not sure about the package car division recs but I can tell you that 4 pilot recs and 1 ACP rec won't assure you a job, even if you think the interview went OK. A phone call is good, a letter is bad, I now know. You get one or the other in less than two weeks. Not sure if I'm going to reapply in January. I've heard UPS doesn't ever call you again. Anyone out there interviewed, got the no thanks letter, reapplied, reinterviewed and got in? Let me know...

BT just called me yesterday for an interview invite. I'm thrilled. No internal recs or heavy time, so I'm shocked as well. I've been trying for an interview invite for a long time. My fingers are crossed.
