The problem is that AWAC only feeds UAL and UAL is in bankruptcy. It's not that AWAC is in trouble with UAL but rather that UAL is in huge financial trouble and is trying to reduce costs even more and using the bidding process to muscle more concessions from AWAC. Until the contract issue is resolved a new hire should view AWAC as a temporary thing.Turbinepilot said:Looking at putting out resumes soon and was wondering how Air Wisconsin looks? Upgrade.....LOL........Turbinepilot said:Looking at putting out resumes soon and was wondering how Air Wisconsin looks? How is their salaries and how quick is upgrade? Are they in trouble with United since I saw they had to bid for their own routes?
Turbinepilot, why don't you put out your resumes and see who calls you? It's nice to think that every company wants you to fly for them, but thats not really the case. I don't think there is a pilot shortage. Get your stuff out, interview, and see if you get hired. Then worry about everything else.Turbinepilot said:Looking at putting out resumes soon and was wondering how Air Wisconsin looks? How is their salaries and how quick is upgrade? So what happens if U actually DOES fail? You worry about Mesa... That they'll do whatever they have to do to keep their airplanes flying.DASHDRIVER said:My biggest fear is that U fails in the early first quarter of next year and MESA comes crying with 80 some rj's begging to fly them for anyone. Undercutting everyone, another step down.
Suggestion. If you are not already at MESA go there. You will be happy for you have the same attitude.I.P. Freley said:So what happens if U actually DOES fail? You worry about Mesa... That they'll do whatever they have to do to keep their airplanes flying.
What does AWAC do, then? Just throw up their hands and say "we give up"? Or does the company do whatever they have to do to keep THEIR airplanes flying?
Does the AWAC pilot group say "not one job, not one dollar" when their company has NO code share, and tries to get concessions to make them more competitive in bidding for other flying? ANY flying?
I second that. I've flown on them twice in the past week, both through ORD. The gate was open, but we sat for 20 min. waiting for them to come park us.propsarebest said:Their rampers in ORD SUCK!!
This is just my opinion, but I think the owners would prefer to get out of the business when faced with running another Mesa, bottom feeder, type of operation.I.P.
