Could the SKYW guys clarify this for me...
Say you vote this pay-raise down and the company refuses to budge.
You refuse to budge and the company refuses to budge. What happens then?
"How do negotiations work at SKYW?"
It doesn't!
we take whatever we're given. after 36 years, that process has resulted in SkyWest pilots getting a better combination of pay, benefits, career advancement, stability and prospects for the future than just about anyone else at the regional level.
couldn't help myself, either![]()

Bla, Bla Bla. The union drive is over so can we go one thread without blaming #hit on ALPA or not ALPA.
I know you can't help yourself. That is part of the problem.
Like I've said, you can make that argument but others can make a good argument that its not so. The point is that with Skywests 35 years of success and $750 million in the bank and making $150 million a year, you SHOULD be thee undisputed, hands down, no doubt about it, best airline to work for without having animosity always pointed towards you. And while you're at it, help the rest of the industry to boot.
But alas...

Yep!
They keep voting down alpa and SkyWest will keep buying union companies and screwing the other pilots. They don't want to merge the lists, that's why the SkyWest folk vote down alpa.
Great growth and business plan there from a MANAGEMENT standpoint.
You are one of the very biggest tools ever to hit this board-jackass! Just give it a year or two and see where you are at. What they give, they can (and will) take away just as quickly. Just give them some time.
BTW-Don't expect any help or sympathy from all your fellow "brother" pilots around here you stuck a chubby to. I wouldn't expect preferential hiring anywhere else when the bottom falls out.
-Good luck with that-toobucket!
when the bottom falls out
It's basically take it or leave it. If it's voted down management will shuffle the money around and come out with a new package. Last time I believe it was a 1.0% raise for everyone. It was voted down then they came back with 1.2% for the jet and 0 for the EMB. That time it passed.
Newsflash....it already is, Steven. Thanks for your concern from your ExpressJet cockpit. What is going to happen when SkyWest takes your company's Delta flying out of LAX?
