Each of the 3 engines on the orbiter generates 400,000 lbs of thrust.
The Space Shuttle main engines are very sophisticated power plants that burn liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen from the Space Shuttle external tank. They are used for propulsion during its ascent, in addition to the two more powerful Solid Rocket Boosters and sometimes the Orbital Maneuvering System. Each engine can generate almost 1.8 MN (400,000 pounds) of thrust at liftoff.
What did the Apollo Moon Rocket generate?

First stage total thrust was 7.5 million pounds, as I recall. Five engines, burning kerosene and LOX.

9 inches.
Oh sorry, wrong question.
Whatever. It really doesn't matter because I have a bigger:
- engine
- paycheck
- watch
Than anyone else on F.I.
Oh, and my car is cooler, my girlfriend and wife are hotter, my airline is better ( and yours sucks ), and even though I am a bigger A-hole I have better and more friends than all of you, and they don't just like me because I have a bigger boat, or better motorcycle, than you.
