Hey folks,

For those of you at NJA or CS or other fractionnals, how much do you make in average per month (or per year) in tips?

Thanks to all of you who don't mind answering this question!!!

Zip, ziltch and notta. Our company did not allow us to accept tips. However they allow us now but never told the owners. So zip, ziltch, notta on the tips.

rumors abound that mgmt tells our owners not to tip us, or did at some point, but we get 20's, 50's, and occasional 100's now and then. A lot of times on demo flights tho ...

Friend of mine flies a Hawker for Netjets and he had an owner literally throw some hundred dollar bills into the cockpit after a flight - about $300 for the two guys. I guess that was unusual but most welcome....... He's told me about one-off $50 tips here and there too. Severe weather also helps - the pax evidently seem more appreciative.

I was super lucky last year and came out with about $500 for the year, but we aren't really supposed to get them and most of the guys I flew with said they rarely get them. I don't do anything special, so I know it was just luck for me.

I get a 50 at least once a month and Ive gotten 300 for flying on thanksgiving. But you could never live on just tips

I seem to do really well with the tips... The " I need beer money" tip jar placed strategically near the exit door seems to help...:0

i had $250 the week of xmas. $100 the week before and after too!

Got a picture of one of my favorite presidents (Ben F.) last tour.

Tips=taxi cab driver

Ben F!!! Sweet, when did he get elected president?

Ooops, my bad. Still I think I like him even better than George Washington or Abraham Lincoln when it comes to portraits on legal tender.

Why the change in policy?

When I flew corporate, I once got 1000 Euros (approx $1300 US) from a Saudi. Being a gentleman, I split it up with the crew (2 pilots, incl self, and 2 F/As). Not even a thank you from the F/As... and when we flew back to Olbia, Italy for the layover (I refused to layover in Riyadh) the F/As swiped my room, which left me waiting 4 hours for the next available room. Later that night we got called up to do another charter. I refused to do it initially since I still hadn't really slept due to getting my room late. The F/As accused me of refusing the trip and I had to go eventually. Come to find out later they each got 200 euro.

Ever since then I kept my tips to myself. That said, the tips were few and far between but only came from the Arabs anyway. The Americans, Europeans, Asians and Indians never tipped. Arabs would do it around once a month.

You let the FA's dictate your trip. Who is in charge the pilots or FA's?

Tips? Not allowed to ask for them but if they are given (not saying they ever are ;) ) it would be rude NOT to accept it.

Guess I'll have to wait for that special day!

As far as the tray troll that ruined the guys life up above... dude... grow a pair! That girl is part of YOUR crew.

If you're the captain, you dammed well better let the FAs take the first room. What, you'd rather them wait in the lobby for 4 hours for the next room? A good captain puts his crew first. :angryfire

gotta agree with Grump here.

Not when she's a beeotch, management ass kissing, troll of a person that lies to turn you in. (According to they guy up ahead.)

You guys must have missed this part.

Just because she's a bitch doesn't mean you need to be one, too.

Still gotta agree with Grump.

Even if she's the worst FA in the world and you intend to go to the CP and FA Supervisor and get her fired, when your in a hotel (esp in a foriegn country) you can't just leave her in the lobby without a room for hours and hours.

The Captain must take care of his crew. No one else is going to.

Yeah... hahah. I'm sure that he was thinking that on 4 hours of sleep... NOT!!!

BTW... I do not condone leaving her in the cold. I was shocked that she threw him under the bus in the morning as she is sipping on her morning tea and nibbling on a crumpet.

Wow, vivid imagination you have there. I didn't see any of those details in the original post. Even if it were true, it doesn't change your response:
