I think I am about to buy a small 3 bedroom house in New Bern. Fix it up a little bit and possibly make it into a crash pad... or if that doesn't work, throw it back on the market. Anybody here done this before (crash pad wise)?

Haven't done it yet, but am thinking about doing it up here in SYR. Sittin around on res days, work on flipping 2-3 houses a year with 3-4 guys figure we can make a little extra income each year and get cheap rent. Good idea if you don't mind moving a little and you find people that are handy and helpful. The checkbook is starting to tell me I need a second job. Good luck.

If it were me, i'd have a hard time buying any sort of property in a PDT base, unless I actually lived in or wanted to remain in that base no matter what happened. With the way PDT is handling business these days, theres no telling what is going to happen to some of our bases.
