After reading the great FLOPS thread, I thought I would start one on how to get the "good" channels out of T.V.'s in our home away from home. I can remember in the old days to get the channels at one hotel, we brought a tool to re-wire the antenna lead direct to the tv instead of going through the control box. It took a special tool that someone ordered from a supply house somewhere.

But, it's been a while, so I am sure that has changed. Someone mentioned a "universal" remote trick?????

DON'T MAKE ME PAY FOR IT, MAN!

Dude...that was the the old 'Spectra Vision' days. It's all digital via the TV remote now.

But if someone has figured out free porn with todays systems, bring it on!

I once heard a funny story about a guy who decided to try "copying" his spectra-vision presentation by videotaping the TV screen while it was playing. The videotape later fell into the wrong hands (his crashpad buddies) and apparently the only thing visible on the image of the TV screen was a glare and a reflection of what he was doing during the show.

Bootleggers beware! And, no it wasn't me.

Ah yes, the old "Palm Pilot" story.

Supposedly he was one of the pilots at my airline........but you know how those urban legends are.

However, given the characters over there, I wouldn't put it past one of them!!!:D

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing about the urban legend thing. In fact, probably ever airline out there has a guy that tried to do that. And every insurance company, law office, or any occupation where people travel and spend alot of time in hotels.

The easiest way is to sign the name of your buddy when signing in. Then you can order what ever you want and it's billed to him.

If your going to be in a hotel for a while like training or something. You can hook up the cable into a vcr, or dvd player for the tv input, then hook up the output of the device to the hotel tv. You then can watch whatever someone else has ordered in the hotel free of charge along with all the other channels. Some hotels have devices that make it more difficult to unhook the cable from the tv, but a few tools do the trick.

Sorry to be a stick in the mud here fella's, but rather than hauling special tools or a VCR (you've got to be kidding me!!!) into a hotel, why not do the stand up thing and PAY FOR IT!

Like every other pilot, I'll all for the cheap and freebies. However, "Thou shalt not steal" means sometime to me.

If you get points for staying at hotels, redeem some that can be used for the pay channels.
