Not here. I sent my stuff in about 2 weeks ago and have not heard anything back yet. Good luck!

Either Horizon is a really good airline or their pilots don't complain much. You rarely ever hear negative about Horizon on this board. Good luck.

Good overall company. Great people to work with, but OK people to work for with exceptions. Pay is OK. (It is hard to live anywhere with the current pay at regionals.) Expect a very long time till upgrade!!!

Do the pilots complain? Just like everywhere else...YES!!!! Just maybe quite as loud as some other pilots out there.

I beg to differ. Horizon pilots leave the company because they want to upgrade!! Not only that, the current contract they have is a touchy subject.

If I had the chance, I would work there. I'm from the WA/OR area.

For the most part the company is good, the flight crews are great and the technology is THE best!

The technology is outstanding, but don't forget to mention better pay than most regionals.

Dispatcher121: I look forward to the day when you dispatch my flight at QX!!

Either I've had waaaaaay too much PBR, or this just didn't make much sense.

Anyway, best of luck in your interviews. It's a good place to be. We're not immune to problems, but I think we're in a good place overall.

Anyone interviewing with Horizon next Tuesday???

Are they hiring in all aircraft? Not too many gouges for Horizon. Just faxed over my resume/cover letter. Hope to hear a reply.

Good Luck on Tuesday!

Last I heard, yes they're hiring into all aircraft, but it sounds like most people will be going into the Dash 200 and 400 for now.

Also, the latest rumor I heard, straight from the mouth of my best friend's cousin's ex-girlfriend's step-uncle, is that they're planning at least one class a month through the summertime.

Does anyone know what a competitve resume looks like to get an interview?

I got +2100, +500 multi, 135 exp, erau degree, sent my stuff in 3 weeks ago. Thought I would have heard by now.

Walked in by someone you know at Horizon is the fastest and best way. I have heard many stories of walked in resumes getting a call within a day or two.

There really are relatively few pilots who leave the company in search of upgrade time. Yes, there have been some, but that vast majority stick around and drink away their sorrows of six years in the right seat,....which by the way will be getting lower....maybe, all the while keeping a good sense of humor about it.

As far as the current contract being a touchy subject. If by that you mean we don't like some aspects of it, then I guess it's touchy. However, like any other contract there are going to be some bad parts. We still are the highest paid in the regionals especially when you add in the total compensation package (the best 401k match out there, medical, etc). That, by the way won't change next year or the next year, or maybe the next year....whenever we actually amend our current contract. (It becomes amendable in April of '06)

Well I am an example of one that has left because of no movement. I enjoyed working with the people out there but I was bidding for the last line available in the Dash in PDX after over 2 1/2 years there, and I was in the 1st class hired after the furloughs! What about the guys who were hired just before 9/11. They were hired in 2001 and may upgrade by the end of 2008 if they are lucky.

I still say that if you really want to work there or live in PDX/SEA go for it. But just a note, you will have much better luck with a letter of rec/someone walking in your stuff.

Contracts are amendable six months prior to their "expiration" date. Although they don't actully expire.
