Just got the new hire packet. Is it true that I really need to bring an E6B? I haven't used one in years and definatley do not have one anymore. Also, do I really need a FAR 61, 91, and 121 book? My previous employer said that too but we never touched them. Thanks for the help.

Truthfully I don't recall touching the E6B even once. Same with the FAR books, since just about everything is op specs anyway. That said, my only disclaimer is that this is a useless internet post versus their official package.

I am almost finished with training and I haven't used either one. I wouldn't worry about it.

you just need the required books and equipment. how you carry them to the airplane is up to you.. there are plenty of brown and silver bags out there.

They don't require us to carry E6Bs anymore and my latest FAR/AIM is from 99, the year I was hired. Chances are you won't need either. Just say that QCappy told you to leave them by the empty beer cans at the hotel.:beer:

What aircraft did you get hired into? I followed one of those Dash 8-400s into Sun Valley a few weeks ago - wow is that thing long...

Just the FO flows. I would recommend having them down pretty good before SPT; depending upon the SPT instructor, you may have less time than you think to practice during SPT. Definitely have to know them for the Oral.
