Just saw on one of the local TV stations that Home Depot in ATL is looking for a dispatcher. Thought some you folks might be interested. Think there is a link on the stations website, FOX5Atlanta or something like that.
 
Assistance is needed in the hardware department. *chime* hardware department *chime* hardware department.

Don't they have that automated already?

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Purpose

Plan and Schedule the Home Depot Corporate Aircraft in accordance with established policy. Dispatch, flight follow, and monitor daily flight operations to ensure trip requests are completed as requested in conjunction with departmental guidelines. Coordinate domestic and international flights in compliance with company policy and governmental regulations. Provide coordination and support services for such trips with all appropriate parties.



Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

The Flight Dispatcher must perform all of the following tasks:


Ensure compliance with FAA and company regulations and advise personnel of changes in procedures and industry innovations.
Be thoroughly familiar and comply with Federal Aviation Regulations and company policies and procedures.
Maintain adherence to the Aircraft security policies as outlined in the Flight Operations Manual.
Maintain strict adherence to the procedures and policies in accordance with the approved Flight Operations Manual.
Pre-flight Administration Schedule all trips in accordance with company policy and FAA Regulations.
Enter pertinent trip information into scheduling system in advance of the trip departure Obtain ARO slots when necessary.
Obtain flight crew lodging and ground transportation.
Obtain passenger ground transportation Disseminate flight crew scheduling information into the telecommunication system after 1600 hours.
Post-flight Administration Participate in entering the flight log data into the flight scheduling software system.
Participate in the compilation and distribution of statistical reports.
"Flight Following" responsibilities to include: departure/enroute and arrival times, passenger ground transportation requests, and other pertinent information necessary to meet our objectives.
Compilation and update of the computerized flight management software to include the following: Flight Crew Personal Data and new Aircraft Data, etc.
Generate monthly reports as outlined for designated personnel and file.
Coordinate any flight manifest changes with the respective executive offices.


Nature and Scope


Typically reports to Flight Operations Supervisor.
No direct responsibility for supervising others.


Environmental Job Requirements


Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS

Minimum Qualifications


Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must pass the Drug Test.
Must pass the Background Check.
Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable.


Education Required

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or a GED.



Years of Relevant Work Experience - 1



Physical Job Requirements


Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about.
On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.


Preferred Qualifications


Associate’s Degree in Aviation Management or equivalent.
One or two years of experience is preferred.
FAA Aircraft Dispatchers License is preferred.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies


Must have highly developed interpersonal skills and organizational consistency.
Must also have an in-depth understanding of the aviation industry and be able to apply this information on a day to day basis.
Complexity and Creativity: A high volume of creative solutions to issues that are urgent, controversial, sensitive and multi-faceted must always be readily available. The Flight Dispatch Supervisor must always be available to solve any sort of issue that arises.

GED and no experience or certificate required, just pass drug/background check. I am guessing $12-$14/per hour for this gem. Hope I am wrong
 
Not to mention sorry ass HD doesn't even give their employees a discount at their stores, but Lowe's will give HD employees an "employee" discount.
