I'd agree with the waste. NJ recently called the local FBO where I instruct (KBMT) and ordered catering and fuel for 0630 and prepaid. Problem is they also called our other airport (KBPT) and prepaid for catering there at 0630 again. Their show time? 1215. Two breakfast caters, two fuel crews, and two cars for one lunch arrival. Nice.

actually something like that is not uncommon. Just let's say it's not a screwup it is usually the company hedging their bets for the backup plan.

Some owners require a backup plane. They wouldn't order fuel they would have the crews do that. They would make sure that the airports would have fueling crews though.

Turnover

Hiring will begin soon enough....especially if we keep losing 14 a month like last month.
The cab drivers that take us from the hotel to the airport make twice as much as we do. Hell, the butlers of the people we fly probably make twice as much......
