If you were hired into a turbo prop and recieved training (hopefully you get training) then you could complete your high performance endorsement then.

The endorsement is only necessary to ACT as PIC. If the airplane is > 12,500, than you'll be getting a type rating and after the training the endorsement is just a sign off from the guy whos is doing your type training.

It really doesn't matter how it's rated, notice that the regulation says nothing about "rating"

"An airplane with an engine of more than 200 horsepower."

I can assure you that any jet engine you will find on a real airplane is capable of developing more that 200 hp. It doesn't matter that it is more common to express the engine performance in thrust.
