HF freq's

Just started flying to Europe and am looking for a short list of interesting HF frequencies to poke around, like the BBC. I found a list of 1000's, but am looking for something smaller.

You probably won't hear a whole lot of interesting things on HF but then again you might. BBC is 12095. The quality of what you will hear will range from ok to terrible. Listen to 123.45 instead, that can often times be very interesting.

No, in fact I wish we didn't have to listen to that crap at all. I was merely saying that he might find that more interesting then the BBC or listening to people making positions reports.

Here is a list of most english brodcasts worldwide based on GMT and the freq's. Most of these will not be on the USB so you may have to turn the BFO off to hear them. Cheers.

You can actually call home on Mars Radio-I did on the way to BDA and posed as "Bong 51". All I got was the answering machine as my wife went shopping. Mars radiois a ham radio outfit that has free Sprint service for servicemembers to call home. It works!

Any Mumbai Radio freq is worth a listen just for the laughs...amazing the stuff you hear from them

Stockholm Radio works for calls home too. BUt I think you have to pay....nothing is that important so I usually wait to use skype at the hotel.
