NJIG4Driver-
I know a couple of NJI guys. Guys that I'd truly call friends. Really nice guys. Anyway I think most of the animosity comes from the fact that the NJI guys are the fair haired boys of Netjets. Most of this comes from experiences that they have had with on the road while running into NJI crews. I recently experienced a gulfstream captain who was telling scheduling he would rather travel x airline vs y airline to his home because y is always a jetstream. If I had ever told a flight manager that they would have had a good laugh.
It's true the gulfstream boys get what they want when they want. A lot of the bad feelings also come from some of the fistfights that occurred in the hamilton parking lot when guys left from NJA to go to NJI.
I see it as the company trying to pit two companies against each other. They like the fact that we don't get a long. I had a captain tell me that there was no way we would get a raise. I thanked him for his insight and got off the crew bus. We all have stories like that on both sides. Although I met a real nice guy in HPN that was really pushing for us. He was friends with a lot of the same guys I know.
I don't have much to say to guys that we are working under the same roof who are non union. I say hi but we don't have much in common. You guys get treated better it's a fact. Take fly from home as an example. What about the nice roadbook's you have that has pictures of all the pilots so you know who your flying with. It's the little stuff like that we see.
Pretty soon we will be fighting for our right for a better life. You guys will be getting a better pay right after we sign. I'm waiting to see what happens IF we strike and the NJI crews pick up our trips while we are walking the line. Then that will be true animosity.
The options guys and the flex guys are a blast to talk to. We're all sweating our arse's off and have had some good laughs. By the way the new ties are awsome. Much better than the old ones.
