First, if you don't remember from the last time you gave me a ride on your airplane, be it as a pass rider or a jumpseater - thank's again for the lift :)

Next time you catch a ride with me, a nod or a smile will do. I may be ugly, but you don't have to avert your eyes or pretend I'm not there when you walk past me on the jetway or in the gate area.

Hey, the last several years have been roughest on you, and a couple of hours in the back of a pencil jet ain't no picnic, but I'd appreciate it if you weren't a d!ck after you just caught a ride on my bird.

Smile or a nod. Us "commuters" got sore lips and necks from giving 'em to each other and to you.

With all due respect :)

It's rare this happens, but as Captain you should make sure all jumpseaters tow-the-line of respect and gratitude.
I always introduce the FO if the JS does'nt introduce himself to them.
You'd be surprised how many just pretend the FO is invisible. In these cases I take the license and med, then pass them to the FO for approval.

Whenever I jumpseat I introduce myself to the F/O first, then the CA. Chain of command ya know...

Attaboy Crashpad! Thanks for lookin out for us F/O's.
