Hi All,

In my effort to keep my new son in pampers, I'm sending out the resume's at an increased pace........(flying for America's most dysfunctional airline is giving me indigestion)

What's the low down on Airtran?
Hiring?
Pay rates?
Anyone one have anything to share?
Please don't hold back, I'd like to hear it all , the good the bad and the ugly!

Also if anyone is in contact with a Captain there named Mike Dubial could you private message me his email address?

MUCH THANKS IN ADVANCE!
Steve

I know Mike, check your messages.

No complaints here. Hired three years ago, 737 CA now. Was enjoying 16-18 days off per month as an FO, around 80-85 credit hours per month, but I never picked up open time or was drafted . . . .in other words, a less lazy sort should be able to rack up a lot more credit than I did.

Company plans to take delivery of 23 AC in 2005 (probably all or very nearly all 737-700) and crews around 11 pilots per plane . . . plus probably 10-15 retirements, so guessing 260 pilots added in 2005 to around 1050 now. COO says we expect to double the pilot group in the next four years, that would be in-line with what I have seen here in the past three years.

Work rules, QOL issues and COLA will probably be the focus of our contract negotiations, along with a small increase in pay. Company retirement contribution is 10.5% to a fund you control, health insurance is OK but spendy.

To sum it up- I have been happy here. Everything was as promised or better. Not your Father's airline, but growing and making money.

Hello Airtran,
Thanks for the many, many rides you gave me to and fro. I'm now in the 91 sector, but will spend my traveling funds with you.:)

Edit: Same goes for ASA, especially the ATR drivers.

Thanks for the Airtran info

Gentlemen thank you very, very much for the replies.I'll try to get in touch with those few I know that made it to Airtran from my company and ask them for some lor's. I was told that the person to address things to is a Miss Stephanie in pilot training. Anyone out there have her last name? Hopefully the correct spelling too if I'm not pushing my luck :-)!
I'm excited for you guys about the growth projections at Airtran, seems as if I always just miss the rush, maybe I'll get lucky for a change. I caught a much needed and appreciated jumpseat out of ATL last wed. night and really liked those folks I came across. Very professional people but with a small company feel, looking forward to maybe securing an interview. Any thoughts on what one can expect to earn during their first year if they are willing to hustle a litle bit?
Thanks again,
Steve

Ps: -9 CAPT,
Thanks for the message. I'll send you a pm regarding getting in touch with Mike.

Thanks Kramden.........

Very grown up cry webb............
Please don't give my son any ideas.
He hasn't discovered your epicurean delights yet..............
I'm not trying to start the flames, just trying to counter your twisted and appreciated humor!
Where did your post go?
Was it retracted by the moderators?
Pretty excrement on their part eh????
:-)

I was told to address everthing to Greta C. Now I know why I can not get a call. Any current fax numbers to send info would be greatly drooled upoun as apparently mine go to the wrong place/person.
