I've had a request from my old man. He has begun to suffer an increase in HF loss over the last few years. He passed the "whisper test" for his 3rd class medical a couple of years ago, but is now starting to use a hearing aid on one side, and in the near future, the other.

He has had a problem with feedback using the Bose X series II with one model of hearing aid. But has since switched to GN Resound Air hearing aid(s). But has not flow with this model yet.

Can anyone here offer some guidance or point me to a resource for hearing aid use and headset selections that I can pass along to the old man?

He's itching to start flying again.

thanks.

is he wearing the behind the ear kind or the inside the ear canal kind? i wear the CIC (completely in canal) in both ears and have had no trouble at all. if it's an option, have him look into this kind of aid. i can't tell you the brand of headset i've used, though. sorry.
