Hey Guys- Just a question about logging some time in the ol' logbook

I have been flying as a Citation II and V copilot for my company and logging the time as SIC under 61.55 ... The Captain I fly with also does some work moving Hawkers around the country for a major jet broker and he has asked me to come along on some flying with him... Question is, he isnt a MEI but he is an ATP, when I am flying my legs (supervised by him of course) in the hawker, do I log dual recieved until I get my 3 landings and emergency procedures in? Or do I just log it as SIC right from the start? A little help here, I guess I just dont understand the reg.

Thanks for the help! I dont want to have funny numbers in my book.

PART 135: You can occupy the right (or left) seat on non-revenue legs, as these legs are not operated under FAR 135, since no passengers or cargo are on board which are being transported for compensation or hire. They are considered to be ferry (or repositioning) flights and are excluded from FAR 135 regulation by FAR 119.1(e)(3).

PART 61: Since the Hawker type certificate requires two pilots, you may act as SIC and log SIC time for the entire flight as provided in FAR 61.51(f). You may do so whether the purpose of the flight is to establish SIC currency; or if you are already qualified under FAR 61.55 as an SIC.

Hopeless is right on 61.55 is how you become SIC qualified and 61.51 is how you log it. An MEI is not required by the captain. Flying the Hawker looks like it was specifically done under 61.55(f). It is not dual received, unless he is an MEI and logs it as such.

Sounds like a fun gig, just remember to get paid for it! The HS125, C560 and C550 are all certified for TWO pilots. By regulation you are required to be there, if you're required to be there, you need to be getting paid appropriately.

You comment about funny logbook numbers: When interviewing pilots, my big thing is knowing your airplanes. If you're going to log HS125 SIC (which you certainly are entitled to in this case), you better be able to tell me a few things about the HS125. What's VMO, MMO, MTOW, MLW, what's TKS, what model Hawker, what engine, etc? You need to know all this stuff according to 61.55(b).
