Passengers are not always plesed with our efforts. Tell us about a time a passenger confronted you and said that he/she was displeased with your efforts. How did you handle the situation?

And the most technical..

Explain to me why critical mach and indicated stall speed converge at high altitudes.

I spent about 2 minutes saying the word "density" about 10 times it seemed. ...Caught me off guard needless to say.

Flame away.

"If you could be any animal in the animal kingdom, what would you be and why?"

---asked in NWA interview, 2001 (I didn't get the job)

"Why are you here, I hear Horizon Air is hiring"?
Same jerk said later in interview, " this place sucks, you don't want to work here".

From a Delta interview.....

"Which do you love more, your Mother or your Father?"

And yes, there is a right answer.

Talk about homophobia

Not tough, but needs to be consistent....

I was asked at AA in 2000:

Rank your priorities in life.....

I said: " 1. Family, 2. Health, 3. Career 4. Friends...etc"

about 15 mins later in the interview after some light tech questions about the 707, they asked:

"What would you do if after your 4th year you came off a trip and your wife said she's had enough of airlines you quit AA or I walk with the kids...."

Well, of course I claimed my wife would never do that, or we'd work something out etc, but they pressed for a yes/no answer so I said I'd quit.

After the interview, they told me I had the job and later on I saw the same captain that interviewed me during training at which time he told me about 1/3 of the people he'd interviewed were inconsistent, and he didn't offer the job as he felt that at least one of their answers was obviously bs. Thought it was interesting.

My Interview with TWA:
" Would you let your family fly on the same plane you are flying"
My Answer " No because I cant trust the other guy not to mess up"

From My UAL interview " So why did you come to interview"
My Response "I am tired of being a vampire"

From a regional interview after I was furloughed:
" So why do you want to work here"
My Response " I just lost my job and I need money and at $15k a year you are the highest paying" ( I actually got the job as the C.P. loved my answer LOL)
