I got two ICN's mid-December, maybe you'll be around. Be nice to catch up

Drop me a line. I'll be there a few times in December. ICN in winter. Living the dream.

None actually.
My take is Hawaiian's worth is as Hawaiian Airlines. Paint another name on the side of the airplane and much of what makes them successful goes away. Also, trying to eliminate a local institution and one of the states largest local employer's might be more difficult than many realize.

Wasn't that hard to eliminate good ol' AQ ;0)

I really hope you guys avoid ANY mergers. You guys deserve way better! Oh how I miss da islands :0\

Good point. I was shocked when AQ went down. But that also sort of makes my point. If anyone wanted to merge with a local carrier they would have picked AQ up when they were cheap? Both AQ and Hawaiian's advantage was as being local carriers. Unfortunately, AQ couldn't survive it's management.
Emirates sounds like an interesting gig. You'll make a lot of money, get a boat load of interesting experience's and Hawaii is not going anywhere. It will be here waiting!
BTW, I fly with a lot of ex AQ guys and they are, every one of them, just outstanding. It can't be easy starting over here but they have just been great about it. Very good guys and excellent pilots.
