Since you are new to the game we are all playing let me tell you a couple others that will really show scheduling:

Switch freaks real quick when you call in times so you can't hear them say "call scheduling".

Here is one, call back the times and when they say have the FO or Capt. call scheduling you reply "they already took off I'll try and catch em"... but both of you will be sitting right there.

I bet scheduling was pulling their hair out the past couple of days. The crappy wx in the southeast backed ATL up so bad, no under block here. Good thing I'm over this month.

I heard this happened about 15 years ago. A captain had an afternoon show for a 4 day trip and he & his wife had a few things planned for the morning. The phone rings at 3am, he screws up, answered it without thoroughly waking up. Kicks himself in the ass mentally when he has the phone about 6 inches off the hook and answers in a muffled voice. Screw sched telling him his report has changed, he now has to be in at 5am. He hands the phone to his wife holding it so they could hear and says, "Honey, I think it's for your husband."

Truth!

In range call at DFW we were told to have the FA and CPT call scheduling. I told the individual that the CPT had already left and I would try and locate the FA. The individual came on the radio and stated that she would let crew scheduling know and not to worry about it. I then called tower on the approach for landing. Nothing when we called in the times, true story!
