...but then again I dont know the 250-300K pilots that seem aplenty here also...
Whoa! What are they flying?

I wonder if they know it takes a Legacy captain FIVE years to make that much?

That sound pretty low. How about 150-160K for starters.

Last time I talked to anyone in the extreme NW they all had to be typed in the G-V before getting hired ... who knows what they make though ... that is all strictly confidential with threats of lawyers and all. ;)

I was thinking more about the SFO area than the NW. I am sure that we are not that high for a un-typed walk in. We have typed guys from scratch but of course they had lots of experience in other heavy bizjets. I just happen to know of a few GV positions down in the bay area that are up for grabs and that where I was coming from.

ahh yeah....the Bay Area...would LOVE to live there but one is not going far on 170K when a 1500sft house on 1/8 acre goes for 750K.

ouch.

Living in a cheap apartment with a wife and 2 kids. Awesome, where can I sign up... Just the other day I was offered 80K to captain a Hawker 800XP based out of IAD. Yeah right... Just for kicks I ran the salary calculator and 80K in central NC equates to 120K in the IAD area.

Yes, I have seen a couple of guys decline job offers in the bay area for just that reason. If you aren't already living there and own a home to boot, it becomes almost impossible to move in. I think an adustment might be in the works!

ME TOO! I almost jumped on a similar job as you describe a few years ago....then dug a little deeper and saw it was a revolving door b/c if you had a family and wanted a house you had to live 2+ hrs away! I think for a single guy or young couple who didnt mind apartment life it would be great.

Too bad because I personally think the bay area is about as nice as it gets!...

although a bit North I hear its pretty also.....aside from the wacky politicians!

 ;)
