Do you mean the airplane or the "airline"?

Shouldn't this be on a "medical issues" board?:D

Stigmatism... All the Gulfstreams do have nice lines. To many people they are just what a jet airplane should look like.

I like how you included the definition for astigmatism, which is a DIFFERENT word!

By the way.....

Stigma: a long-lasting mark or stain on one's character or reputation, esp. of disgrace or reproach.

Because it's obvious --at least to most of us-- that someone has confused the word "stigma" with the word "astigmatism" or "stigmatism."

Regardless, he included it in his original post. To wit:

It's a joke. Lighten up, Francis.

As a Wolfpack/Amato/Rivers fan I'll tell you Gulfstream is PFT.
I'm not 121 so I can't say if there is a "stigma" attached to G-stream.
I would go with plan B. I would not want G-stream on my resume.
Good luck.

Hahaha...no, I was thinking more like chicken fajitas, like in the 'Family Guy' episode...he phoniciously pronounces it. I have always tried to do it when ordering, but my wife hit's me in the head with a men-ue.

Ha Ha Ha... I always order fa-JI-tas in front of my wife. She used to hit me, now she just realizes it's stupid. She figures if she ignores it, it will go away. Hmmm, that's how we handle our kids' misbehaviors too...

Anyway, why you be axin' this brutha 'bout a stigmatism fo? Ainchu got no senses boah?

In other news, citzens downtown were stigmatized...when a dog exploded on a busy street corner. No one was injured in the blast, but 3,000 fleas are missing and feared dead.

It is easily the most stigmatized fast moving current of warm water in the Atlantic Ocean.

Actually, I was asking about the aircraft and not the airline. Some of you guys take the definition of a word to literally. For those of you who do....

stigmatism: The condition of being affected by stigmata.

stigmata: A mark or token of infamy, disgrace, or reproach.

So, maybe I should rephrase my question. Is there a mark or token of infamy, disgrace, or reproach against Gulfstream aircraft.

Funny.:D Archie Bunker was a master at this; Gig-alo & Linger-ay are the only two that come to mind.

Anyway, back to the topic: He comes across as a major arsehole, but I guess he's alright once you get to know him.

(Sorry G2, couldn't resist.)

You are either in "gulfstream world" or you want to be...just ask a Gulfstream driver

It is, however, the nicest light twin on the planet

Why would there be a stigma towards an aircraft?

Me, at interview: Yes I flew the Hawker for a 135 charter operation.

Them: You pathetics piece of s*** GET OUT OF MY OFFICE!

Looks better than a Global Express if you ask me, and should I happen to fall over an extremely large sum of money it's not beyond the realms of possibility that I'd buy myself a G-V (or 550 as it is these days).

On the other hand, the Falcon 7X has got to have the sexiest lines ever for a business jet. Them froggies do know a thing or two about style ;)

uhhhh, no, there is no such word as "stigmatism". You made up those definitions.

The word you are looking for is "stigma"

Stigmata is: bodily marks or pains resembling the wounds of the crucified Christ and sometimes accompanying religious ecstasy (from merriam webster)

I doubt that you're going to get crucifixion scars from either the airplane or the airline

I got the definitions from dictionary.com. I didn't ask for a grammar or spelling lesson, I asked about an airplane.

Not correctly, you didn't. If you were to read the dictionary.com a little more closely you would have seen that the definition you quoted for "stigmata" was actually for "stigma" The dictionary.com definition for stigmata is crucifixtion marks, (plural) just like in merriam webster.

I'm sorry that I used the plural form instead of the singular. Please advise your high school English teacher that she did a good job. Referring to the original question, if anyone has any opinions on the Gulfstream aircraft, please share.
