I think most aircraft salesmen go where they think they can make the most money. Few sales execs leave the Big G voluntarily, those that do, do well. Peter Edwards left Gulfstream to be VP International Sales for Bombardier and is now President Bombardier Business Aircraft (I know - it's kind of like being Captain of the Titanic, but it's a nice title). Lee Monson left Gulfstream and became President Boeing Business Aircraft.

Christian still looks like he's 18... ;)

I think they started in '96. That was 3 IV's, 2 V's and 2 550's ago. The ashtrays fill up pretty quick around here. :D TC
 
I happened to run into Christian yesterday at Citigroup's offices in HPN. The comment about looking like he's 18 is certainly accurate. He's certainly a chip off the old block, although Randy is probably looking down on him from upstairs and smiling, never mind the fact that he isn't selling Falcons.
 
I always wondered how it worked for salespeople at companies like Gulfstream. Do they get paid when they take the order, or when the aircraft is delivered? I know that can be years, in some cases.

I assume that they have some sort of minimum or draw, as well?

Is it unusual for a salesperson to have a bad year and not sell any aircraft?
