Wouldn't surprise me one bit. Colgan's BOS routes that are EAS must be replaced by another carrier. Gulfstream is a prime candidate.

Wow, who would have thought SF340s would be considered 'heavy iron' at any carrier! ;)

The article lists the saab as a 30 seater...that's an A-model. Mesaba only operates the B plus. We haven't operated an A model since 2006. Must be getting the airframes from the dusty desert in southern AZ.

If the company can sell them all to raise money for growth somewhere else, then go for it, especially if we cant fly them for delta anymore.

Colgan used to make f/o's pay for their own type rating.
It wasn't just gulfstreem.

Regardless of how many seats or which model it is it will still only hold 30 pax. :)

FWIW, Pinnacle A models had 33 seats. We flew them that way for 17 years.

colgan "a" models also had 33 seats. and no, colgan hasnt been pft for a long, long time. Not since United mainline was hiring 250 hr commercial wonders

Good news, SAAB is an automaker too. It should be easier for Gulfstream to find car parts for their planes now.

I wonder how much the F/O seat will cost now...50K?

That would be a good question. However, the academy doors have been shut (for quite some time now I understand). The FO program is no more. This old…old…old joke no longer applies to this company. You will have to get some new material. Fear not though, I hear rumors that Cooper will soon be starting up a new program.

I think I've got a better question. How many of you jobless hang arounds on this board will apply when GIA starts hiring off the street in the next few months? Anyone who knows anything about this industry knows that we all live our professional lives in
glass houses. I think you know what I think you can do with your stones.

Pinnacle operated straight B's. B+ has 34 seats, B has 33, and A has 30
