I was in FLL yesterday. I noticed two old ASA E-120's (N266AS was one of them that I once flew) parked there. Is Gulfstream using them for DCI?

I don't think so, I had heard they were going to be flying them on their own, ie. under Gulfstream colors. They are probably going to be re-painted.

I wonder how much they're going to charge the FO's to sit in the right seat.
LOL!!

....whatever the "charge" is, it'll surely EXCEED the cost of owning those clapped-out hunks-of-junk!!

Break-even load-factor: 0

Funny you should bring this up. Just last Saturday I saw 210AS and another Brakilia down in San Juan, PR. They're hauling freight for the FDX feeder down there.

210, as you recall, was the first ASA 120, and therefore the first one in service in the US. ~1986, I think. God only knows how many hours on that plane - ten years ago it was at 28,000....

um.....maybe 'cause ASA is indeed a "major" airline.

Sure, maybe its a major in the eyes of the D.O.T. But to pilots and to the flying public its a commuter (oh, excuse me, regional... same thing). This thread belongs elsewhere.

Hey Sparky, the public thinks we're Delta airlines. I guess the "DELTA" on the side of the planes and on their tickets fools those poor, dumb bastar.ds.

You belong elsewhere. Now fetch me another Relleno, taco-man. Gear arriba, then shut the %@(& up!

Umm, but the topic was Gulfstream's E-120's if I recall and they will never be a major. In about 30 years or so they will have CRJ-100's on the property so get your kid's resume ready.

As for the Brakillya I suspect they will be operating them under a DC. They just painted them house colors so they can use them in the Continental system as well. Of course that is all speculation on my part since I am no longer there.

I couldn't stop looking at your avatar. What was the original thread about?

If Planet Airlines or Airtran or JetBlue is a major, then ASA is a major.
