Are we bored?

nah, just curious of his background and what he may have been typed in before spirit. 23 is very young to be hired to fly a 320. thoguht he mighve been flying GA jets before he got to spirit.

it also seems he just got his cfi. no other types. maybe its a renewal, but maybe he nevee cfi'ed.

Spirit was hiring people directly from Riddle during the "shortage."

The A320 must be a really easy airplane. All those FMS 101 classes they do at emory dribble sitting hours at a time on a simulated flight really paid off for the guy.

I am not defending this at all, however here are the facts as I remember...

Spirit hired 8 ERAU people because the DO, at the time, was a ERAU graduate and he thought it would be nice to give something back to ERAU.

The 8 were given 100 hours of IOE, which they planned for, I think one went over the 100 hours.

They had to fly with a check airman once a month or every other month or something like that to track their proficiency. They were scheduled to have a PC at 6 months and one at 12 months again to check their proficiency.

Man,that's pretty bad when half your multi time was IOE.
