It's so nice to hear people around here talking hockey instead of that god forsaken football.

This is exactly why these leaks from the NJ DA are BS

This proves that, not only did Gretzky not bet on anything much less hockey, but he did not lie to reporters regarding his knowledge of the subject. All those "guilty until proven innocent" types can stick this in their pipe and smoke it...

The Toronto Star reported Saturday that the wire-tapped phone conversation in which Coyotes coach Wayne Gretzky asked Rick Tocchet about how Gretzky's wife could avoid being implicated in the alleged gambling scandal happened Monday.

Some media reported that the conversation happened weeks ago. The Star cited a law enforcement source as saying the timing of the conversation was reported incorrectly.

The Star report suggests Gretzky did not have knowledge of the alleged gambling ring before Monday.

Gretzky attended the Coyotes' practice Saturday at the team's auxiliary rink in Peoria. It was his first on-ice appearance at a practice or morning skate since Tuesday.

Gretzky briefly spoke to reporters after practice, but he did not take questions.

"It's a dead issue for me now," Gretzky said of the gambling scandal allegedly involving his wife, Janet Jones, and associate coach Tocchet.

"I remain supportive of my friend and obviously for my wife. . . . Life goes forward."

The best thing Robert Ecshe could do for Team USA is get wasted on the flight to Italy and do 1.5 twisting gainer into the jet bridge and 'injure' his ankle. Hello Ryan Miller and USA's chances improve.

Bill Clement on NBC is saying that several USA Hockey players are stuck in the weather on the east coast, including DiPietro and Esche.....thats enough of an excuse right?

What did he do? Explain that part to me, because I don't get it.

He is a fantastic example to kids. Worked hard, learned to play the game better than anyone else ever has. Undersized; hockey is sport where football player-sized men spend much of sixty minutes pasting each other to the boards and Gretzky was neither big or strong, but played for around 20 years at a hall of fame level. He doesn't have lots of illegitimate kids floating around wondering who daddy is; he continues to be married to the same woman and has a good family.

Hockey has certainly helped him succeed, but I believe he would have been successful at most things he decided to try.

Do not misunderstand me guys. I think Gretz is the greatest. His skills and class can not be surpassed by anyone. My comment regarding pro-athletes was not directed at Gretzky, but towards pro atheletes in general. If Wayne knew about his wife's involvement and didn't do anything about it, he certainly didn't do her a favor. All of us have made mistakes in judgement during our time here, and I know this from first hand experience. I just hope that his involvement isn't deeper than what has been reported to this point. I will definitely be keeping my fingers crosssed for Wayne. I have been a die-hard Kings fan my whole life and Gretzky almost brought the cup home to LA in 93. I will always remember the 93 season, mostly because of what Wayne did that year.
