"MICHIGAN CORPORATION SEEKS single female, Citationjet SIC. Must be independent, flexible and resourceful, multi overnights weekly. Minimum, commercial, MEL, CFII. Will train right person. Excellent opportunity for corporate jet/ EFIS experience. Reply to:

Great........................

Even with all the fast track chances women in aviation have, it's not worth it when you have to work next to a mouth-breather.

Should Read:

"MICHIGAN PERVERT SEEKS single female, Citationjet SIC. Must be independent, (I like em'single) flexible (Willing to perform lewd sex acts with me during overnights) and resourceful (Able to lie convincingly to my wife's attorney), multi overnights weekly. Minimum, commercial, MEL, CFII. Will train right person. (To be my "ho") Excellent opportunity for corporate jet/ EFIS experience for an individual with absolutely no self-respect. Reply to:

Seriously, all joking aside, what kind of misguided trog thinks it's even remotely legal, let alone appropriate to post such an advertisment? I'm wiling to bet the HR/Legal department of the company isn't aware of this Captain's attempt to operate well outside of the equal employment opportunity act, not to mention the similiar hiring practices required at said company. Even if He/She simply prefers the company of a female pilot, this is WRONG.

My belief? He or She is a sexist pig.

Any young lady intersted in such an arrangement, that's OK, whatever you're willing to do to suceed is your business. More power to you. Honestly. However, check your self-respect and dignity at the door, and don't ever, ever, get your nose out of joint if you feel you are the victim of sexism for the rest of your career. Your willingness to tolerate it when it suites your purposes pretty much robs you of the right to ever deserve or expect a workplace where your contributions and presence are valued in a strictly professional manner.

I think we are capable of much better than this and I believe the vast majority of my Brother and Sister Aviators feel the same way.

My sincere hope is that this tool gets absolutely NO response save letters of condemnation from the rest of us and a severe "butt-kicking" by their employer.

Anybody?

I am still trying to figure out if this guy or gal is serious. The only way that I know of that someone can discriminate (in this case, reverse discrimination) is if they are a private club that requires dues to join. This sounds like a huge EEO lawsuit waiting to happen - but I could be wrong since I do not know the number of employees of the employer.

It is not discrimination if...

The pool of applicants is entirely female. This may be the case if company privately owns aircraft and promotes gender specific advancement (female) in all facets of the company. Parallel case in point: Have you ever seen a white guy flying Jesse Jackson?

I'm white and I flew Jesse once (not that I'm proud of it). Sadly, I didn't have time to put copies of National Review and The American Rifleman in the cabin before the trip.

I would think Pro Pilot would be calling to do a feature on this guy any day now.

UNBELIEVABLE!!!
What a F.@#^%$& schlep!

I have found the legality of something is not its determinant of acceptance.

For instance we have all heard of the NAACP. Could we ever accept a legal, unhassled, NAAWP? How about a united white people's college fund?

No way. It is NOT about equality. After Dr. King was killed, it was never about equality.

The gender war is a similar situation. When was the last time you heard of an employer being sacntioned for discriminating against men?

I don't think I can name a single instance. As an employment professional, you may know of one.

I found this interpretation on a legal website. As I said in my previous post, I wanted to know how many employees the company had because some Federal Laws do not govern companies that have small numbers of employees. Can you tell me where you found your information so that I can have it at my disposal?

Kathy

"Every employer in the 21st century is aware that there are numerous state and federal laws prohibiting employment discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, age, handicap disability and even veteran status. And, although many of the federal laws do not cover employers of less than 15-20 employees (thus exempting many small business employers), most states have filled this gap by establishing a lower threshold of 4-8 employees.

Sexual discrimination. Gender based sex discrimination occurs when an employment decision is made based on an individual's sex (the word "gender" has been increasingly used in this context). Sex discrimination laws apply equally to males as well as females."
