Heard Express Jet sent notices today that a LARGE number of upgrades are being awarded. Truth?

Upgrades were awarded a few weeks ago. Look for over 300 more by years end.

Latest scuttlebutt is three new bases for the new business. Best of luck to the CHQ folks, I hope you're able to come to an agreement to operate CRJ's. Are there any Embraers on the market?

Regardless, you folks are still welcome in my crewroom and cockpit.

LJDVR,
Before you welcome them into our crewroom(not just yours) you might want to find out if their company is paying for use of our crewroom(paid for by XJT). There is a thread here addressing the same issue in ATL between ASA and Chitauqa, http://forums.flightinfo.com/showthread.php?t=77889. Wouldn't want to give another company(I'm always willing to help a fellow pilot) the competitive advantage a free crew rest/flight planning facility.
RJET pilots are welcome in our cockpits as well as us in theirs if memory serves me correctly.

Just keep pissing in front of it and we'll stay away...

Lets not get ahead of ourselves ok?

I'm glad to hear the news as well but lets not put the cart before the horse.

I was talking to a chq fo,, and it doesnt even seem that their pilots will set foot in xjt crew rooms,, sounds like they will be doing most flying out of their current bases through out their system. have all the first flights start out of there and then pick up flying out of cal's hubs. This keeps cost lower so they are not charging cal money to pay for a crew room.

As well as moving expenses for crewmmebers, ect.

I'm not so sure it's 300 more upgrades by the end of the year. I read it as 300+ total for the year with about 80 more for the remaining of the year. They said they were only running 5 more classes in the next bid. Don't know if the announcement today will change anything though. Who knows

369 upgrades by the end of the year. It wasn't clear as to if that number includes the people who have already upgraded so far this year or if it means 369 more upgrades coming up besides the ones who have already upgraded/awarded.

I'm shocked that XJET has 600 and 100 as their mins and getting any bottom feeder that applies. There should be a waiting list just to INterview at this place now that ASA is going to lose 30 or so planes and CHQ not getting those 69 planes for the CAL flying that won't happen. This really is the #1 regional in the world and anyone who says differently is probably jelious.

You people who say we're really that much better than anyone else are making us all look like toolboxes. We're maybe a little luckier (for now) but geeeez....you still make $22/hr the first year. 600/100 is about right for that crappy pay.

Similairly, CAL's 2000 hrs and 500 PIC or whatever they have is about right for the crappy 30k/yr you'll start off at there.

We're no better than Mesa when it all comes right down to it. We're just blessed with a better set of circumstances, and again, I reiterate, FOR NOW.

A few of our people got lucky here with the 2 year upgrades. I doubt we will see more than 50 upgrades on the next per bid. I hope I'm wrong though.
