Really learn to become a CFI..not just pass a checkride.
Give Val a call at Sheble's, many times they will do your II and MEI both in the ol' trusty BE95 Travelair, getting you more twin time. They have closed the Vegas office though, so you will be in IGM instead.sstearns2 said:I did mine at Sheble's. I'd go there or ATP. I think you get more twin time at ATP, no reason to pay for single time at this point.
If you care about being a good CFI, then it really doesn't matter where you did your rating.

I didn't say that now did I?minitour said:There are people out there that study and learn before taking the quickie courses.
Just because you can prepare for a checkride in 2 weeks doesn't mean you don't study and know your stuff.

My post said don't just prepare for a checkride.minitour said:That did seem to be the implication.

If you are doing outside preparation before diving into one of those courses, what I said doesn't apply.
gkrangers said:No place better to be ill prepared for a checkride and still pass than east central Florida.![]()
Eh I dunno...I've done two rides in FL and used the same examiner, and hes known as an easy one....minitour said:Yikes.

Wow, very very different experience than what I had. And very different than what the other people in my academy had as well, remember when you go to one of these fast paced classes, you have to bring a lot with you to the table.Kingair1181 said:I would NOT recommend going to American Flyers - you will spend far more than the advertised price and will probably take longer than the advertised 30 days. Although the ground school portion of the program is very good, the flight training was sub-par and I'd spend usually upwards of 40 mins of my "flight time" waiting to take off. American Flyers also charges you for every small thing - from signing your logbook to the training manuals they hand you on the first day that are pointless. I spent over $7000 in costs there and was not happy at all. If you have the money and time and want a top-notch ground program, perhaps you might want to consider them, but if I had to do it all over again I'd do ATP.
