Nice to hear some good press about Song. Not surprising though - I think its in-flight entertainment is much better than JetBlue's and others - no comparison. Another interesting factor - fewer old DAL flight attendents working for Song.... Coincidence? I think not.

DELTA'S LOW-FARE AIR SERVICE RECOGNIZED FOR SUPERIOR IN-FLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT AND ON-BOARD OFFERINGS FOR CUSTOMERS

ATLANTA, May 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Song®, Delta Air Lines' high-style, low- fare air service, was named "Best In-Flight Service" in Reader's Digest's "America's 100 Best" May issue, which hit newsstands on April 19.

Song was praised for its wide variety of on-board amenities, including Song's innovative in-flight entertainment system with personal seatback video monitors at every seat that provide: 24 channels of live, DISH Network television free; 24 channels of audio programming; digitally-streamed MP3 programming that allows customers to create individual play lists of 32 songs at their seat, from an inventory of more than 1,600 songs free; 10 pay-per- view movies available on-demand, allowing customers to start and stop the film at their leisure; 11 video games; and a popular interactive trivia game that allows passengers to compete against one another. Song's exclusive on-board menu features healthy, organic food options, as well as a few indulgences such as Song's signature cocktails.

"Song is honored to be recognized by Reader's Digest for providing our customers with the superior in-flight experience and choices they want when they travel," said Joanne Smith, president of Song. "In just two years, Song's employees have provided an unmatched in-flight experience, successfully distinguishing Song's unique brand from its competitors and we are thrilled to be considered one of 'America's Best.'"

The second annual "America's 100 Best" list, which is featured in the May issue of Reader's Digest magazine, names the country's 100 best people, places, ideas and innovations in six major categories: Legacies, Passions, Adventure, Innovations, Time Off and Connections.

Earlier this year, Song announced major expansion plans from New York's John F. Kennedy International airport (JFK) to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, San Juan and Aruba. Song's expanded service, including its new transcon routes, will feature the wide array of on-board amenities that distinguish it from any other air service.

About Song

Song, Delta's award-winning, low-fare service, provides non-stop service between major cities in the Northeast and Florida, as well as Los Angeles, Atlanta, Las Vegas, San Juan and Nassau. Song currently operates a fleet 37 Boeing 757s with 199 all-leather, all-coach seats, providing more than 144 daily flights. With the addition of 12 new planes and 18 new roundtrip flights, Song will increase its service to 176 daily nonstop departures and add new destinations including San Francisco, Seattle and Aruba by September 2, 2005.

All Song aircraft are equipped with personal video monitors at each seat, offering a wide array of entertainment features -- accessible via touch-screen technology -- including: live, DISH Network television; movies on-demand; MP3 programming from more than 1,600 songs and video games. Song also offers a complete on-board food menu featuring healthful, organic food options and few indulgences such as Song's signature cocktails.

Customers can use a credit card or cash to make purchases onboard. Song presently serves all three New York metro area airports -- JFK, Newark and LaGuardia -- the only low-fare service to do so. All Song flights are operated by Delta Air Lines. Song tickets can be purchased by visiting flysong.com or calling 1-800-FLY-SONG (1-800-359-7664).

Interesting. How are their fares in comparison to the rest of the pack?

Good question. They also have 199 seats for sale on each 757, much more than the rest of the pack. I think the max fare is $399 one way. Most of the Song flights I fly are full. I think it would be great if all of our mainline domestic flying was Song. People really enjoy the flights, I hear it all of the time as they walk off of the airplane.
