Will they drop the requirement for the type? I know it's probably a necessity but I won't get furloughed until March so I can't get the type until then.

The type rating will still be required to get a class date, but it will not be required for an interview. Requiring the type rating allows training to reduce initial training by about 80 hours. It also save SWA much money in insurance costs.
