PSA Airlines lost a fine crew member, Lance Carlton, in a car crash on Wednesday night.

My thoughts and prayers go to all his friends and family.

I ask that we keep in mind how fragile life is and try to be better people for the days to follow in Lance's memory.
Thank you.

The funeral is Saturday. A bunch of us are heading up to MO tomorrow. This is by far the hardest thing we have had to go through. Lance was definately one of a kind.

Miss ya already buddy

Where did Lance attend college? Graduation year?

Wear your seatbelts if you are going to drink and drive...I been on this planet for 45 years and other than the three people I know that got murdered, some pilots that wound up in lake MI and people that I know that got killed by other drunk drivers...I don't know one single soul that got killed in a drinking related crash other than people I know who knew someone who did. What does that tell ya? You guys are setting a trend...either get the hell out of Ford products, wear your seatbelts or learn how to drive after having a few brewskies. Yea, I'm calous...but like I said, after 45 years I don't know one single soul that died causing a DWI crash...but I know me some murdered mofo's. Either wire your head to your ass or get off the road...

Florida man dies in Northshore crash
By News Sentinel staff
March 9, 2005

A 29-year-old Florida man died this morning in a single-vehicle crash involving alcohol, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

Lance Carlton, of Panama City Beach, Fla., died in the 12:25 a.m. crash on Northshore Drive, according to a report filed by THP Trooper Derrick Watson. Carlton was not using a seatbelt and had been drinking, Watson noted.

Watson’s report shows Carlton was driving a 1995 Ford Explorer westbound on Northshore Drive when he failed to negotiate a curve near Tooles Bend Road. The Explorer ran off the road and slammed into a tree, according to Watson’s report.

Wayne man, Chris Miller, dies in wreck
MOUNT OLIVE -- A 31-year-old airline pilot was killed before dawn Sunday in a single-car wreck on Country Club Road near Mount Olive, according to Highway Patrol reports.

The victim, identified as John Christopher "Chris" Miller of 470 Baker's Chapel Church Road, Mount Olive, was ejected from his eastbound car. The investigating state trooper, David Finch, said Miller was not wearing a seat belt.

Finch said speeding and reckless driving contributed to the fatality that occurred at 12:52 a.m., about a quarter-mile west of Ramblewood Drive. Based on evidence at the scene, Finch estimated the driver's speed at about 70 mph. The posted speed limit on the two-lane road is 45 mph.

The trooper said Miller's 2003 Ford ran off the left side in a right curve, then came back on the road in the left lane, went sideways, struck the left ditch, went airborne, struck the ground 69 feet from the initial impact, went airborne again, struck the ground 51 feet further, went airborne a third time and overturned on its roof.

Miller's car, valued at $12,000, was demolished.

The fatality was the second in 2005 on Wayne County roads.

Miller was a licensed flight instructor and was employed with Corporate Airlines as a pilot. He also worked with his father at Johnny Miller Electric Service in Mount Olive.

Miller's funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home.

Is this the same Lance that lives in TYS? We were buddies in flight school.

RIP buddy.

Rook :(

Yes Rook it is.

Be kind to FNFAL - he can't help being "calous". He's a middle-age wanna-be cop, wanna-be airline pilot, gun-toting fanatic who was a rejected applicant to a small town Police Dept then later on couldn't pass the interview at Skyway. So he's now flying a 208 (yes, I know for who and your assigned run - aviation is a small world) and is now a wanna-be lawyer. He's a little bitter.

Sorry FNFAL, hope that wasn't too "calous" for you.

Have some respect for the dead and their families. Glad to know that you never made a mistake and can walk on water while not getting your shoes wet.

HMM

OK...but how does that make me feel safer about my wife sharing the same road with drivers that drink and drive and can't "maintain"...espeically with those who are supposedly paid to make "life or death" decisions.

I won't tell you not to drink and drive, I will not tell you to wear your seatbelt, I will not tell you don't speed...but don't expect me to sing along to "wind beneath my wings" at the funeral.

Nope...and I stand behind what I said. I personally know 1,000% more murderers and murder victims, than I know drinking drivers that killed themselves in car mishaps.

Maybe it would be more appropriate to start your disussion on another thread rather than smearing Lance's name for which this thread is for.

You jump on this thread flaming away, but on another thread you make this statment.

I don't care how fast you guys taxi as long as you don't get in the way of a salaried man that has 30 drinking days a month built into his schedule.[

Couldn't pass the interview at Skyway? That's luscious. No pun intended. Let's go get a beer sometime...

FN FAL. Show some respect. This thread is not about you.. stop posting on this thread. Better yet, Moderators please delete his posts. Our good friend Lance Carlton has died - let's just leave it at that.

I don't think I was flaming Lance and my comment is not contradictory.

Just this Monday I came to work only to find that one of my "co-workers" is off for the week because his 20 year old neice died at approximately 2:40 AM Monday morning after taking out a guard rail and a utillity pole. No seat belt...alcohol has not yet been listed as a contributing factor.

I don't think I was flaming anybody or pointing fingers...just pointing out a co-incidence.

Hey FN FAL!

I am sure that if Lance survived the accident he would have realized he screwed up.

Take your monday morning opinions off a "Good Bye Lance Carlton" thread and go @uck yourself!

Personally, I mourn the deaths of four innocent people murdered in Atlanta. Not a drunk driver who put others lives in his hands.

Regardless how someone dies, they are dead and gone! This leave a huge hole in the hearts and souls of the friends and familiy members left behind.

I kindly asked that we try to be better people in memory of Lance , but as usual pilots on this page have shown no compassion about anything that does'nt affect them!

My friend Lance Carlton has died, I don't care how, he will be missed and never forgotten!

RIP Lance.

It's a shame you're a rude @sshole...and that's really your problem, not this board. Out of respect for anyone who has gone west early, you should be respectful to his family, friends, or anyone who knew him. This post is not supposed to be about your opinion, it's about a good man who is already sadly missed by all who knew him. How would you like it if people spoke that way of you to your friends/family when you are dead? Grow up and go find the monday morning quarterback section, I'm sure you'll find some other idiots who haven't hit puberty yet to gossip with. By the way if you wanna be a little immature idiot and retort, do it with a PM and leave this tread alone...and that goes for everyone who's thinking about running their mouths.

Wow, I can’t believe Lance has passed away. Man that sucks! Lance and I were roommates during our schooling at Spartan. He will be sorely missed. As one poster mentioned he was one of a kind. There are a handful of people in your life that you will always remember because of their bright and vibrant personality. Lance was one of those people to me. I remember him always having a positive outlook and always having something funny to say.

My thoughts are with you and your family
