Does anyone know of any good software, books or videos that give a walk through of the modern glass cockpit? Im looking at making the transition from an old "steam guage" Lear 25 to a Lear 45. Ive never even seen a glass cocpit in person, so Im virtually clueless to the operation of EFIS, FMS etc...

Thanks in advance!!!

The inexpensive way is to play around with FS2004. It's not bad for getting used to the look. The "Modern Airline Cockpit" by Steve Casner. Iowa State U. Press is a good generic view of EFIS/FMS use.

I wouldn't sweat it too much. If you have any decent amount of time in an airplane, you should have no problem transitioning to the glass. It takes all your major instruments and combines them into one small tube to stare at. For me it makes for a much quicker scan, and gives your eyes less of a workout not having to jump around all the time. The biggest obstacle typically in flying new glass is figuring out what all the buttons do, and what menus they give you. The airplane I fly have separate buttons you can push to get your takeoff/landing refs, switch navigation modes, weather/terrain radars, change "compass/HSI" format, set altimeter settings, etc. But it's nothing that you shouldn't pick on rather quickly in training.

FMS's are typically a different story. Each one has its own personality, and my best advice would be find out which FMS is used in the Lear that you'll be flying and try to find a simulator or a manual on it and start reading up on it. Will save you lots of headache when you go to school. You can download some FMS simulators from the manufacturers website, or they'll be more then glad to sale you a simulator for a few bucks.

Here's some photos from Airliners.net that shows the actual Lear 40/45 cockpits with tubes to give you an idea what it'll look like:
