question........

question: If some airlines didnt take consessions...would they still be in business? just curious...the way i see it is..mesa pilots don't make much now..but what about the future? Im not starting anything here...lets not starting bashing..

sorry i mean pilots....What i mean by the future, is the next contract.

Airlines don't take conncessions, pilot groups do...


As for the rest of your post... It doesn't make much sense to me... I don't quite understand what Mesa payscales have to do with consessions. I also hate trying to predict the future.....
 
There are 3 or 4 bars in the regionals...lets face it, Mesa will and always be the one to raise the bottom bar. We have those that raise the top bar, those that raise the middle bar and those that raise the bottom bar. Mesa is that carrier. JO is just too good and Mesa, although gaining on each consecutive contract,will always be at the bottom raising their own bar for the bottom. The top carriers have to "out-do" each other to raise the top bar. Do not count on Mesa to raise the top bar. Count on them to set a new standard for the bottom bar. After all... Someone has to be on the bottom.... Lets all back the Mesa pilot group to raise the bottom bar higher cause we know it definitely will not go past any top bar. Im thinking its good we have someone to set the low standard and keep raising that low standard. It makes it easier for the pilot groups that will set the high standard. Imagine if they actually took concessions and were lower than they are now?? Mesa belongs at the low end of the graph slowly rasing the basement level. Count on Comair, ARW, and ACA to set the high standards.

You know what you're talking about. I remember that flight school in FL. and how they wanted to sell their product with the promise of a job at Comair for 10K... that was before 99' and I was'nt aware they stopped that practice...or did they?

I didn't attend Comair Academy in Sanford, so I don't know all the particulars. But I do know that there isn't a promise of a job when you finish the school. There is a promise of an interview IF you successfully complete all the training, and then you instruct there for some period of time. I believe that it is one - two years or so. In that time they work you hard and don't pay that great. But, the interview is no sure thing, as only about 1 or 2 new hires a class come from there. There are no guarantees. I believe that in another thread on here somewhere you all decided that Comair Academy wasn't considered PFT. It was just like going to a college with a bridge program to an airline. Of course that is a differnet story!
