The Nutcracker system on the GII GIII and GIV is what Gulfstream calls the Weight on Wheels or WOW system on their aircraft or the way the aircraft knows if it is in the air or on the ground. The check prior to landing is to verify the aircraft is in the air mode prior to arming the automatic ground spoilers (to prevent accidental deployment if the thottles are pulled to idle while still in the air).FracCapt said:On the subject of the GIV....a friend of mine was looking through a Simuflite GIV checklist, and saw something there that caught his attention....and he asked me if I know what it is...but having no time in type, I had no clue.....so....what is the "Nutcracker" referenced on the before landing(I think) check?
