I was wonder what a tipicaly Corprate GIV pilot makes in the NY metro area?

A couple of years back, I was paid $35K to sit in the right seat out of a major NY base.

WTF were you thinking??? I was riding right seat in a Lear 35 for a 135 Charter operator 10 years ago making $35k!!!

I know of a large midwestern Corporate operator that starts their G-IV F/O's at around $75-80k (plus generous annual bonus or around 10-15%)... My guess is NY would be somewhere around $90k plus bonus...

Maybe because NEFlier needed a job, and wanted to fly right-seat in a Gulfstream. Probably a couple years ago he didnt have that much total time, and congrats to him for landing such a sweet job (bad pay or not!).

Also, you do notice he speaks in past-tense about it, so he obviously didn't stick around too long on it. Probably long enough to get a better paying job.

You hit the nail on the head. I needed a job, had very little time and had the opportunity of a lifetime handed to me. How many guys with under 25hrs of ME time would turn down the right seat of a G-IV for 35K?

I left for greener pastures after getting my time up.

How many reputable companies that operate a G-IV would hire someone with 25 hours of multi-time to fly right seat?

Well C'mon, lets be realistic here... And lets ask one more question, how bad of a job was it that a low time guy like that would take and then actually leave the job???

You have to put things into perspective...

Falcon,

I thought your response was funny, I'm with you.

Falcon, my buddy... sit down here, have a little drink, and cool down a little bit. It doesn't matter now how reputable the place was that put a 25 hour multi guy in the right seat of a Gulfstream.

We're already ten posts into this topic, and so far the guy doesn't have any answers to his original question - with the exception of Falcons midwest salary answer.

Getting back on topic, anyone else have any idea what the salary range would be in the NE for a G-IV F/O?

I would say anywhere between $70,000 being the low end and $80,000 being the high end. I think the $90,000 + range (although would be nice) doesn't seem to be the norm unless you are on with a fortune 20 company TEB based, that number just seems somewhat far fetched. If you are "able" to get a number that high then more power to you and less financial worries. It is hard to say not knowing the company inparticular that is in question.

good luck,

3 5 0

Falcon,

are you with Citi by any chance?

Yup..

I have to agree with 350Driver that 70-80K for a qualified pilot is what you should find in the NE/NY metro area...

OH NO!!! Is this Archer??? I am having flashbacks to Archers "Skybar" thread!!!
No way! The only association with Archer that I have was the Piper kind when I was learning to fly.

Sim partner from PHL was paying his people(FO's) $90K to fly a GIV and F50.TC
